I was thinking today about how much I really enjoy hanging out with people who do opiates, because they are so relaxed constantly. But I also was aware of my extreme affinity for the ecstasy culture - the music, the people, the experiences, the all-consming feeling.

I tend to stay away from completely 'pothead' oriented cultures where the day is driven by the flame and plant material. They seem so wasteful, those days.

What are your personal opinions?

Thanks,

Vaya

Here comes my predictable response...alcohol!

Pubs are all-purpose for any mood as far as im concerned. but we have a big culture built around pubs here in Aus (obviously not as much as Ireland, but its there).

What attracts me? or what im most used to? Id have to say the E culture attracts me most but since bars are legal and all dance clubs serve alcohol alcohol still plays a big part in gettin intoxicated. buds kind of a way to chill and relax after a hard day at school n the gym sittn in front of the telly watchin simspsons and eating dinner while laughing my ass off

the pot culture doesn't really interest me too much, most of em seem so fucken lazy. Meth culture I would say, but that said only my friends, I've been round to tweakers houses with people I don't hang with very often, and they seem really dirty and sleazy, so I try to avoid them, I'd have to say that the E culture is my favourite.

mdma culture for sure. the people are usually quite friendly, and love the music and partying. very open minded fun people. ive made lots of friends from this scene.

Opiate/opioid culture. All of my friends who use opiates/opioids are always the realxed, friendly, confident, fun-to-be-around friends. They are never trying to start fights, and are always very sensible and rational in making decisions. I always have a good time when hanging with my opiate/opioid-user friends.

Alcohol here as well, i cant remember the last weekend when i didnt go out to get drunk with my friends and party. Sure, you also get into stupid situations, but thats half the fun ;)

Pot culture still has a place in my heart though, lots of mellow people that i'll never forget. Its got a big social aspect when combined with the alcohol/party culture. No better way to meet people than to share a joint.

Psychedelics. Mostly shrooms and, to a lesser extent, pot. I like hanging round with my stoner mates, and that and shrooms are the only drugs that have any sort of real culture to speak of round here.

Plus they tend to encompass all sorts of music, people, places and random things, rather than just being a drug and that's it.

I particularly like the conversations and the random profound stuff that makes no sense when you come down.

Psychedelics because these people are interested in art and philosphy like me and can have an intelligent conversation.

Cannabis because potheads are not "real junkies", mostly mellow and fun people.

Psychedelic art, psychedelic music, psychedelic dancing, psychedelic festivals, psychedelic jambands, psychedelic meditation, psychedelic enlightenment, psychedelic communion, psychedelic laughter, and plenty of time to relax in between too. What drug culture has all that?

Psychedelic culture, the peopel tend to be interested in testing the limits and are interested in using drugs for fun but also as tools of the mind.

I don't like any drug culture. I just like the drugs that are in those cultures. If anything it would be E/MDMA culture.
