This essay has nothing to do with being straight. It should be titled, "What it means to be a confessed homophobe, and how I try to rationalize it."

As someone who likes both sexes (and wouldn't have a problem dating even someone who is transgendered, has had a sex change, or who has both sets of genitalia), it still sometimes bothers me to see a REALLY feminine acting, "omg, like...", bitchy guy or girl. That type of personality just bothers me, no matter what the person's sex/gender is. It makes my skin crawl and I tend to see the person as a freeloader or weak.

I think what the author of this is missing is whether it's the actions / mannerisms that bother him, or the fact that it's a male doing these actions. I personally cannot stand bitchy people. Maybe he hasn't looked into whether he dislikes women with the same mannerisms.

a butch lesbian is just as annoying if not more so... and unlike gay men who like women. alot of butch lesbians hate males! i find them sickening if your going to be a lesbian at least be feminine..

I don't like bitchy people. It's the mannerism that gets to me, whether you're male or female, straight or gay. I'm suggesting that perhaps the author has not considered that it might just be the mannerisms the person is displaying and not the fact that he's gay.
