Bluelighter
My self and your self,
His self and her self,
Running from this apathy,
As if it were the enemy,
Something to be feared,
That will destroy in part,
The illusion of ourselves,
That we hold so tightly.
Yet we scream out at night,
For someone who understands,
For a burden to be lifted,
From our tortured minds,
To fully share ourselves,
With an external world,
Dreams of someone else who,
Knows what it is to be human.
His self and her self,
Running from this apathy,
As if it were the enemy,
Something to be feared,
That will destroy in part,
The illusion of ourselves,
That we hold so tightly.
Yet we scream out at night,
For someone who understands,
For a burden to be lifted,
From our tortured minds,
To fully share ourselves,
With an external world,
Dreams of someone else who,
Knows what it is to be human.
