What is your perception of Adddiction?

And yet in cancle's example inspiration was found in a drug, regardless of whether or not it should have been found by taking acid, it was!
Many artists throughout the years, including many musicians, used drugs to find inspiration and improve their art... The results have often been very good and without the influence of the drug would probably not have been that interesting... That point is debateable, but regardless in this situation drugs have been an aid...
I see your point Silencer, that drugs shouldn't be used to achieve what really should be gained naturally...
You may believe that just having fun isn't good enough, but I do, and so do many others... I have goals, but I don't place a huge amount of importance on them, because those goals may change, or as cancle says I might fail to reach one of them for whatever reason (including reasons beyond my control) ...My main goal in life is to have fun, without harming anyone, with minimal harm to myself, while helping as many people as I can to also enjoy their lives... Drugs are a part of that for me, and as long as they are fun, I'll keep taking them... I don't have comedowns, so I do go into drug taking feeling good, and I do come out of it feeling good too (once my energy levels have returned to normal, lack of sleep is what drains me, not drug taking)
I hope you see our point that drugs can be used safely and effectively to enhance your life, even if for only one night, without being detrimental to oneself or anyone else, as long as care is taken, moderation is observed, and the knowledge we have gained from this and similar sites is put to good use...

Totally agree with ya buddy. Everything ya said was true. Took me off Heroin so there ya go. Your point has been proven. Like I said there is a time and a place for drugs and I guess, you like me Tarsalan wait till your mind is naturally prepared to take it. I now have learned and programmed my mind to think this way. Remember I am not against drugs. I just thought I would post something that was anti-abuse rather then always the same old topics we seem to hear about people complaining there is not enough good MDMA, or coke, or speed or what ever. If everything isn't in the right place naturally then I guess don't do drugs. Totally agree with ya Tarsalan.

Very very interesting. I went totally cold turkey on drugs after what I think was abusing them (its easy to see now that it was abuse.. I felt that I needed them every weekend) and although I haven't touched an illegal drug in nearly a year, I still feel compelled to read all I can about drugs and I still get into many arguments defending people who do take them and defending them in general. Therefore, in a way, I feel drugs will always be a part of my life, because I am still obsessed any time I see, hear or ready anything about them, even though the feelings that I want to take them are gone!!!!
