What is your opnion on girls who wear short shirts that show off their midriff/belly?

Bare midriffs don't faze me because loads of girls on campus dress like this. I will never forget one time a girl came into the office wearing a bathing suit top and shorts (not too uncommon in Florida) When she walked out, I noticed her entire back was tattooed with vertebrae and I had to do a double take given this was 1990. I had never seen a chick with such extensive tattoos back then.

Midriff was the thing to do in the '90s

The real question is what about dudes who wear shirts that expose midriff? Staple of my summer wardrobe!

If they are going to show the stomach area then at least be certain that the abs have some sort of muscle tone. I see so many college girls who think they look sexy showing off their freshman 15 which seems to always accumulate in the mid-section.

I generally look down upon women who where anything more revealing than a business suit or burka.

I like high waist jeans with shorter shirts that show a bit of your belly. Too much belly is usually tacky though. Also victim blaming and joking about rape? xstayfadedx, not funny...

this. when i'm not working it's high waisted shorts/pants/skirts with a crop top 24/7. basically my entire wardrobe besides work clothes. also, a woman joking about rape? disgusting, and shows how much empathy you have for your fellow females. "i was high on clonazapam" isn't an excuse, is it? a rapist surely would think so.

high waisted shorts please please stay in the past.

to me short shirts look stupid and most of the time the girl is looking for/likes attention.

How many people are going to quote me when I already explained my reasoning and what my opinion is.... I'm not explaining myself any further.

you sure about that? high waisted shorts are amazing, and i can't help but think that your idea of what 'high waisted shorts' are hasn't been updated since 1993.

fashion is inherently about seduction -- humans, birds with purple feathers, whatever. so what's wrong with wearing clothes looking for attention? that's kind of the point.

Yup, those are the high waisted shorts I am thinking of. Cringe.
You can almost see her bloated navel protruding, no thanks.

This. Fucking yuck.

Well whatever is all I can say but I don't get why their parents become shocked when their kid gets raped.

I've noticed that all the cool kids are going out of their way to let you know how much of an asshole you are. I sympathize with your plight, I really do - but you did make an off-color rape joke.

It can attract unwanted attention. The "wrong" attention. It sucks that people need to be worried about that.
It can be done fashionably.

In my opinion, I think it is unstylish to show "too much" of a lot of things. Aka short shorts, midriff baring, and tube top. But if you choose one or two things to "show off", it's cool. I personally don't like my stomach and I don't show it off much. When I had a nicer stomach, I'd wear midriff baring tops out to clubs and stuff. But I prefer not to wear them day to day.

BUT everyone is welcome to wear what they'd like!!

Yeah man I know. I am the original one to quote you too but lay off this guy folks, he already explained himself and said he was sorry.

i dont care about women wearing make up,skimpy clothes etc,but do i find the right hair style for the shape of their face/head is the most important aspect when it comes to attractiveness of a woman!

I wear the shortest, tiniest, cutest little bare belly tops I can find. In fact, I have many that are custom made by a tailor. I wear them everywhere. Restaurants, shopping, traveling, my husband's office parties ... it doesn't matter. I love the way I look in my very revealing outfits and the way I feel and the different ways people react to my bare body displays. My husband doesn't ever want me to cover my tummy so I don't. I am an accomplished belly dancer to the point that's what I do for a living. I truly enjoy the nervousness and vulnerability I feel when people are paying so much attention to me because of my skimpy clothing. It's a major turn on to know I am being watched because of my teasing attire. Call me slutty or whatever, it doesn't matter. I am very lucky to be able to be so scantily clad and to have a husband who encourages me to do it.

this is the 21st century. clothing is soo last century. full nudity is the only way forward imo.

Some girls can pull it off. Some can't. Some look too slutty. Some look too hard to get.
It depends on a few things.
Overall, though, I'm not a fan of MY girl doing it. Females may not ever admit to this, but when they wear "showy" clothes, they are wearing them to "show" something off. And that's, NORMALLY, directed towards the opposite sex. Whether they are a cheater or not... it's for a reason. But, I've had a few (every girl I've talked to it about) just absolutely ASSURE me that it's just because it's "COMFORTABLE" or some other lame excuse lol.

Post above pretty much says how I feel that they feel about it and reasons for doing it (wearing skimpy shirts/short shorts): "It's a major turn on to know I am being watched because of my teasing attire. Call me slutty or whatever, it doesn't matter." It's always about the opposite sex. Not to be a hypocrite, it's our human nature, if we are straight, to try and attract the opposite sex. I'm a male, and hell, one of the first thoughts that goes through my head before wearing something boils down to "will chicks think this is stupid/makes me uglier". It's not on my mind if I'm not going out into public, but when I do, chicks are on my mind. And I'm on their mind, that's why they get all skimpy ;-)

Well, I don't really have much to say about this because I like wearing crop tops. Mind you, I've only liked wearing them since I lost a ton of weight and feel confident enough doing it. But that being said, I think any women should be 'allowed' to wear crop tops without being judged about their weight or for being 'too slutty'.

However, I only really wear them either when it's stupidly hot out or if I'm wearing high-waisted jeans - I would find it a bit much if I were wearing low-cut trousers with them, but that's just me.
