What is your opinion on time?

Time . . . What is it? . . . And, why do I keep killing it?

Time exists . . . at least in this World.
Each day is NOW. But then, it's gone, and then we have NOW (but, a different Now).

It is a Common Experience.
My boss likes to consider Time as a means for me to arrive with the others.
My time-clock is the means to get paid.
I clock-in ... I goof around (oops, I mean "work") a while ... I clock-out ... Payroll gives me Money.

In the Spiritual sense, time is less-Certain.
I notice this most when I meet a person I haven't seen for years.
As I see that face, my mind goes back to "then" ... that last time we were together.
This is absolutely amazing at a High School reunion.
Zoom.
Here I am . . . feeling those old feelings . . . I am 18 again (and so are they).
Wow!
All the old times are HERE, now, right inside of me.
Here I am ... a 18-year-old social Nerd ... lost in the World of High School.
It is Real. Time has gone backwards (and it took me along with it).

Fortunately, there are people I knew much later than HS.
With them, I am older (and hopefully wiser).

And a few people I STILL know.
Whew! What a relief. I am myself again.

I don't doubt that time exists, but it certainly feels like a relative notion. The whole sensation of some days dragging out and some days and weeks just whizzing by without a second nod. I don't know much in the way of quantum physics or any actual scientific law regarding time, so nothing I say really holds much sway at all aside from the sensation of time. Not wearing a watch doesn't free you from the constraints of seconds, minutes, or hours. You're still placed in a society which uses time as an axes around which to operate. Wear a watch or not, Taco Bell drive-thru is closing at the same time daily.

Time rather seems like a blessing and a burden. Knowing that time passes and you're not completely suspended in the moment that is now (especially if it's a painful moment) gives comfort to press ahead and endure.

Ah...there's so much I could never begin to even put into words when it comes to time contemplation. Ironically enough....I spend a lot of time thinking about time.

No offence man but why do you always deliberately have this elitist attitude in every thread you post in?

SmC flames: "No offense man but why do you always deliberately have this elitist attitude in every thread you post in?"

I thought that you were leaving Bluelight for a while.
When will this occur?
If you had left Bluelight a hour ago, I would be Happy-er now (another Time puzzler).
I wish you a Fun vacation.
No offense, man.

To answer: "If you think that my Post is Elitist, where does that place you?"
I write from my Experience ... my (warped) perspective of Life (and Time).

What could I say that would be more proper for you?
Maybe your Post: "some higher force...God if you will...controls time... I'm slightly drunk, so sorry if i ain't making much sense."

yeh...solidly-here, your posts are fucked, pointless, not so much elitist, but have a predictable and tiring style. no offense.

"time is bullshit"
that seems to sum it up best I'd say!

i notice his posts are usually inflammatory and imo dont use very good logic, but attack the ideas not the person :P

lol you totally ended the thread mod.

I think time is a good way to judge how long things take to do what they're supposed to do relative to us.

Other than that, it's useless.

Didn't the French try to destroy all the clocks in their city during the French Revolution or something? Saying that time was a horrible construct of man?

Hmmm...here's a simple phrase that will shatter the conundrums of even the most word-addled wooden-faced philosophoprofessor: Who cares.

Got this in an email many years ago.....i like it.

Time Poem

To realize the value of one year:
Ask a student who has failed a final exam.

To realize the value of one month:
Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.

To realize the value of one week:
Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realize the value of one hour:
Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.

To realize the value of one minute:
Ask the person who has missed the train, bus or
plane.

To realize the value of one-second:
Ask a person who has survived an accident.

To realize the value of one millisecond:
Ask the person who has won a silver medal in the
Olympics.

Time waits for no one. Treasure every moment you
have. You will treasure
it even more when you can share it with someone
special.

time is only a measurement for a given state or difference between states of our universe. it is a 4th dimensional "point."

we only observe time because we are mortal.
