No dicksizing here please. I'm just curious what your hydrocodone tolerance is or has been at it's highest?

Swim gets scared every time he needs to up his dose. He currently needs 60mg to feel it good.

Swim is aware of the apap dangers but not the hydrocodone dangers and if there's a ceiling dose or if it always depends on tolerance?

Swim is going to quit. How long after taking hydrocodone would one be clear from danger (besides liver damage showing up days later)? Is it 4-6 hours without falling asleep clear from respiratory failure?

60 mg per day isn't too high IMO. I've been up to 100 before I switched to something else stronger. I don't know if there's a ceiling effect, but I've read that prolonged use of high doses of hydrocodone can cause damage to your inner ear: http://www.painphysicianjournal.com/2007/may/2007;10;467-472.pdf.

Not sure about your respiratory concerns. I think you build tolerance to that effect as well as to the euphoria. IME hydrocodone doesnt cause too much respiratory depression to begin with (compared to other opioids).

BTW, drop that "SWIM" shit. Everyone knows who "SWIM" is, and its use is frowned upon here.

EDIT: That study I referenced sounds shady, but I've seen the hearing loss thing mentioned by other doctors on pain forums.

Thanks for the reply.

Apologies for the swim. I thought it was standardized practice from doing a lot of googling on the subject. Initially I typed it without that, but then changed it.

Thanks, I feel better and more informed.

i'd need 500mg for a semi decent buzz but you should do a cold water extraction if you don't know what that is use the search bar or google it

We don't allow this type of discussion, it has no harm reduction value.

Also, read the rules before you post again. The BLUA and the OD Guidelines, both links can be found in my signature.
