I'm tempted to put Benzodiazepines, as I'm scripted a variety them on a monthly basis, and take them daily to deal with anxiety/panic attacks (and a little bit of recreation, as well). But they aren't really the drug I most ENJOY taking.. and were I not able to get a script for them from pretty much any doctor in the city, I dunno if I'd do them as much as I currently do. Granted, I do love the chill, mildly sedating nature of them, and I find they make me a MUCH better person to be around - more social, friendlier, and generally happier with my lot in life.
But when it comes to straight up euphoria, that sunburst of pleasure in the back of one's mind, nothing tops opiates in that regard. But Heroin is too hard to find (and makes me one irritable motherfucker), Oxycodone is too short-lasting (and oddly stimulating, which isn't something I want with my opiate high), Morphine makes me toooooo itchy and uncomfortably hot, and Fentanyl... well, the gel-based patches have unfortunately been recalled in this country (due to leaks that can cause ODs/getting FUCKED UP, heheh). Having never done Oxymorphone (I would LOVE to get my hands on some), and believing Hydrocodone isn't even worth a mention (let alone Codeine.. hahah, only useful when you're sick and can only get a bottle of OTC codeine pills), that leaves it up to Hydromorphone, the one drug in the world that it seems is tailor-suited to my taste. Wonderful IV rush (best in the business.. although I can't speak for Oxymorphone), one decent shot satisfies me for at least 3-4 hours without desiring another (unlike Oxycodone... which leaves me craving another shot/rail within the hour), CHEAP ($10 for 8mg Dillys, $25 for a 24mg HMContin, can't go wrong), plentiful (one of the most reliable connects for opiates I've ever dealt with.. I thank God every day for my Dilly dealer), and a perfect sedating-oh-god-i'm-on-the-nod-but-still-functional high.
So... Hydromorphone (while not on the list) is my drug of choice, hands-down.
Of course, six years ago I would've answered 'marijuana' without hesitation... four years ago, probably ketamine (which still holds a very special place in my heart)... but that was before my first experience with opiates (the big H, oddly enough) three years ago.
