Heroin. You can say opiate but once you start doing dope you consider it it's own drug, not just an opiate. Most dope fiends would not take a perc (maybe foe free).
I also loved GHB back in the day. I'd prob still like it if I had G connects like I once did.

I both strongly agree and strongly disagree with you. I started my career as an Opiate addict with true Norcos, the yellow ones (10mg hydrocodone + 325mg APAP, best opiate to aspirin ratio of any pill in the "Vicodin" family. From there it was a natural progression to Morphine pills (could not find a way to even get well off these things half the time, fuck morphine pills, and I hadn't cottoned to the needle yet...), Fentanyl pills and lollipops were OKAY. Hit nice and strong in the beginning, but shit for duration, and by far the most dangerous to dose. I skipped Percs and Roxis altogether and went straight to my ultimate favorite the Original Blend OxyContin 40mg pills (Higher ratio of opiate to filler than the OGOC 80s), which makes a big difference to IV users and insufflators. Of which I was both, before I realized the most cost effective and overall best way to consume OxyContin was by oral consumption 30-45 minutes after eating a very light protein meal. High lasts a bit longer than sniffing, and much longer than shooting--though the rush is a much more subtle experience--creeping throughout your body from your belly in a lovely warm feeling (rather than the more forceful and unquestionably more sought after--probably solely due to the intensity level of the IV rush)-- and ugh, I hesitate to use the word "insidious" (because there is, I feel, a negative connotation to that word, one that I did not originally intend).
I guess the best way to put it is you get to the same spot, only rather than teleporting (IVing) with quite a bit more complications, you can always take that calm, pleasant stroll--the long way. The scenic route, If you'll indulge me.
-And having IV'd, sniffed and smoked Heroin, using in all untold quantities of Junk...
-Having sniffed 0.5mg of Fent in one line, and orally consumed a Fentanyl lollipop...
-Having IV'd, sniffed and eaten OxyContin, with a max of 360mg Oxycodone in one day, both chewed/swallowed and insufflated....
-Having sniffed 8mg of Dilaudid (Hydromorphone, yeah, yeah, wasted without a needle, I know)....
-Having sniffed and eaten Morphine pills...
-Having laughed at Codeine..
-Having made Poppy Seed Tea, stronger than I expected!, from un-washed Poppy-Pod seeds, bought (okay, you got me, stolen in bulk) I got soooo high. Scratching for hours, itchy with an almost marijuana stoney feeling, 95% of my synthetic opiate WDs killed...
-Having orally consumed between 135-195mg Methadone/day for years and years...
-Having detoxed from 32mg/day Bupe to 12-14mg/day Bupe....
That's a fair amount of Opiate experience. No I haven't had a chance to IV Hydromorphone, haven't even injested oxymorphone yet... but I've tried quite a damn few opiates, between them all every ROA minus plugging has been explored. And I can say without a shadow of a doubt I'm all about eating my Opiates. OxyContin was probably my favorite, it just felt so clean and perfect, I felt like I had complete control of my consciousness (sleep all day, sleep all night--my choice), inflated confidence, "clean" feeling, extreme euphoria, essentially unmatched in the Opiate World (where most Opiates make you content rather than euphoric, and that's no complaint, I'd settle for content 5 days a week, no second guess). OxyContin was just a drug of it's own, it was almost like the cocaine of the opiate world. It provided acceptable levels of all the beloved traits found in Opiates, while at the time allowing the possibility of extreme motivation and energy. That is, if nodding isn't your thing.
And some of my best ever nods have come from hydrocodone. If I could have an Opiate pill tailor made to my purposes it would be a 100mg HydroContin (I made that up, it's supposed to be the Hydrocodone equivalent of OxyContin). In all honesty I think I remember hydrocodone being my favorite of the opiates, it certainly gave the best body high to me, along with some of the best pure opiate nods.
Third favorite goes to Methadone. I took it everyday for 5 years, and while I didn't get "high" off it after all that usage, I still felt noticeably "better than normal/happy for no reason" every single day. And I slept like a champ on this one.
For me, Heroin would come in 4th fav opiate. But let's be fair, Heroin (unless you have a very consistent connect) can vary quite a bit from batch to batch. Color, taste, purity, cut, price.... You never know what you're getting

Of course, if I could get the Heroine that Bayer Pharma was putting out 100 years ago that would be my number 1 girl, but that shit just isn't around anymore, at least not that I have access to. So I'm goin with my 'Codone's, followed by 'Done(if not for recreational purposes, sheer practicality demands I give this drug honorable mentions), followed by the H.
edit: It is noteworthy information that I have yet to IV Morphine or smoke pure Opium, both of which are a dream of mine. Which is to say, my opinion may not be worth as much as some of the BLers who go down in the Junk Hall of Fame. The true RX Cowboys, Trainspotters, Die-Hards, and Smack-Heads who've done it all every which way. Then again, this was a subjective poll by nature and I'm usually right (obviously I'm joking about that bit at the end, don't get butt-hurt, I know I'm still very green in certain areas)
edit: And the reason why most veterans in the world of opiate addiction would turn down a perc has nothing to do with the fact that the perc is oxycodone, rather everything to do with that itty, bitty, threshold dose. I bet if you offered them 3-6 Roxi they'd be eating out of your hand. Same drug, only better the larger doses free of APAP make more sense, to me at least.
