Chick Flick/Romantic Comedy

So what's your favourite chick flick/romantic comedy? Call me gay...but I just love romantic comedy. Here's my top 3:

1. While You Were Sleeping
2. Forget Paris
3. When Harry Met Sally

Your turn!

when harry met sally is far and away my favourite, i think - i absolutely adore it. the humour really appeals to me, but it's still got enough of the lovey-dovey stuff too :D

I don't have a favorite, but these are the ones I own

High Fidelity
Honeymoon in Vegas
Jerry Maguire
Fools Rush In
As Good As It Gets
Elf
Me Myself & Irene
and most of the Adam Sandler romantic comedies

HIgh fidelity really was a great one. as was one of my other faves from cusack, gross pointe blank

One I really enjoyed lately was "under the tuscan sun"
And far and beyond my fave movie ever, "chocolat" best girlie flick evar.

there is a broad and subjective difference in chick flicks and romantic comedies not sure which you are shootin for.

High Fidelity and When Harry Met Sally are great. I would also add Love Actually. To me, these movies were to able to appeal to an audience beyond the traditional romantic comedy fan and grab a larger audience.

The Breakfast club
Another vote for High Fidelity and Gross Point Blank
Clueless (early 90's nostalgia)

Actually, I am confused myself as what is a chick flick and what is a romantic comedy.

oh yeah, banquo, love actually was fantastic....

fengtau...me too. and since I am not much of a "chick" in the traditional sense, I gotta just guess and say they (chick flicks) are movies that appeal to the romantic side, whether it be comedic or dramatic, and movies that lack murderdeathkill, thriller action, horror, and other extremes.

1. When Harry met Sally
2. Hannah and her Sisters
3. SLeepless in Seattle
4. High Fidelity
5. How to Make an American Quilt
6. Bridgette Jones 1
7. Like Water for Chocolate
8. The Truth about Cats and Dogs
9. Gas Food Lodging
10. Blue Crush
11. Alex & Emma
12. Forget Paris
13. When a Man Loves a Woman (le sigh....=D)

lmao....many more im sure I forgot to add ;)

Titanic. Probably the most unintentionally ironic and funny movie ever.

Leonardo DiCaprio freezing to death in the ocean holding onto a little piece of wood? Priceless! A horrible piece of shit movie sweeping the Oscars? Brilliant!

STOP![/SIZE]

seriously, we all know what the best one is-

"say anything".

not to mention, "amelie".

"can't buy me love"!!!!

one more for "high fidelity"...when cusack's character talks about her rubbing her feet an even number of times when she can't fall asleep...*sigh*...love it.

so now I think jon cusack can be the official "romatic leading man" in america, and hugh grant for the wankers.

I forgot one....I really got teary eyed during adam sandlers and drew barrymores movie, 50 first dates, and he was pretty sweet in spanglish too, though the movie kinda bored me....he is surprisingly great as a romantic lead.

love actually...ha...i "actually" watched that! not much of a traditional chick either and i think i really, really liked that movie because of hawty keira knightly. nah just kidding, that was a really cute movie and i love british accents!

steel magnolias...does that count as a chick-flick? cuz it definitely ain't a romantic comedy. that's in my top 5 all-time favorites.

bed of roses
benny and joon
far and away

I really liked 50 first dates. I watched it this morning actually. I also concur with elf and jerry maguire. Elf is pretty goofy, but by the end it just gets so cute that you can't help but lurve it. Yeah, i'm a straight male but I -do- like romantic comedys.

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned the english patient yet. It's not really my style of movie but pretty much every woman i'v talked to said it's the best.

French kiss is another funny one. Meg ryan.

chick flick: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chick_flick - an alright def. for it. they are similar i suppose it is a matter of taste and personal opinon that seperates the two.

and yet another vote for high fidelity (and serendipity too maybe just to go with the causak)
