Hey,
I looked at some forums and other articles about tianeptine but some statements seem to be contradictory. Some people say that tianeptine is only a substance with peripherical "opioid-like" effects / an antidepressant while others say that as a mu receptor agonist, and that it is an opioid.
Is tianeptine an opioid ? Does the opioid recreational effects come from it being an opioid/mu receptor agonist ?

I don’t know on the “chemical side” of what it is. But they did have it around here before being banned. They called ZaZa, or gas station heroin. I remember if I ate 4 pills, it kind of reminded me of a Roxie high

It’s not a classical opioid. Tianeptine is an old tricyclic antidepressant that has opioid-like effects at higher dosage ranges, but it sucks because it only lasts like an hour while leaving you in withdrawals every couple hours once you are habitually taking it; not to mention that you will also experience serotonergic withdrawal too since it is primarily an SSRI (just an old dirty non-specific one). Stay away from it entirely, lest you succumb to this garbage too. There are much better and safer alternatives out there. Try quality red kratom leaf powder from a quality supplier such as Golden Monk or Happy Hippo. Happy Hippo will even send you a free ounce of kratom as a sample if you go into their site.

Do you have personal experience with Tianeptine? Tianeptine sulphate most definitely lasts longer than an hour, more like six.

I found 7-oh withdrawal to be worse than Tianeptine withdrawal.

Nah, I never touched the stuff, but my friend has tried it IV as well. I don’t think using tricyclics for side-opioid effects is a wise choice. I just stick to whole Kratom leaf powder, and if you don’t throw your tolerance out of whack by using extracts and 7-OH pills then a little actually goes a long way. I used to have a gram a day IV heroin habit, so kratom withdrawal, etc is bullshit to me and of nearly no consequence. Withdrawal is always annoying in one way or another, but that’s also why going cold turkey is just plain irresponsible and tapering down slowly over time using a good method is ideal.

I think people just talk about Tianeptine like it's some demonic force because they view addiction and dependence as a guarantee rather than the consequence of fucking up with it.
