Harm Reduction What is this? I'm kind of scared...

It was last week or at the latest, the week before that, when I shot some dope into my arm in a funny fashion. It's the vein near the crotch of your arm... that would be considered directly at the bottom of your arm. when you hold your arm straight out (with your palm facing up) the vein I used is on the right side of the arm.. so because of that, I had to quite literally, hold the syringe horizontally.. It was stupid, believe me, I know!

however, I obviously missed some.. as a hard abscess grew in and it became quite red... however, now one (to two) weeks later, the discoloration is gone as is the majority of the bump... the majority of it at least..


what remains is a very small bump deep beneath my skin.. I can tell it's managed to shrink in size.. but what the hell is this? I've never had something that has lasted several weeks.. I'm quite worried.


It's even got my mind thinking tumor! Can anyone help?


No discoloration, no pain, just a small bump deep beneath my skin.
 
It could be a deep collection of fluid, most likely an abscess caused by your bad injection technique. I really don't think there's much chance of it being a tumour, but as ever if you want to find out, check yourself into a GP or hospital.

I became afraid of it being a tumor only recently... it was due to a friend of mine finding out that a bump on his neck is cancerous... (he doesn't use.. it's just gods way of saying fuck you..)

so It's been a lot to deal with so my anxiety has been all over the place.. anyway,

okay, so (lets say) it's a deep collection of fluid. I've noticed it's shrinking, slowly but surely.. where do I go from here? Is there any danger associated with this? What's the best way to dominate this thing and end it's lumpy life.

Keep an eye on it. Shrinking is a good sign. Growing is a very bad sign. If it starts to grow, get yourself to a doctor, but if it continues to shrink then personally I'd just give it time to finish healing completely.
 
I know the feeling your having. You notice something about you. You learn about something terrible. Then you start thing bad thoughts. IMHO I think your ok. You said it is getting smaller with no pain, redness, heat, or anything. Those are good signs.

But we are not doctors. I think you should go pick out a random dr and get it looked at if you don't feel comfy with your current dr. We really can't give medical advice or diagnosis over the Internet.
