I would say Vicodin is probably the strongest drug you could do and still do very well in your career, maintaining your house, wife & kids, sports, etc. Anything above hydrocodone and things start to go way down hill.

Um....probably not any opiates. Ketamine even though I have no personal experience maybe. Amphetamines and xanax. I dont think you can go wrong with that and some valium....or I Guess Klonopin

That all depends on your tolerance.

I can IV a couple bags of fairly strong heroin and still function perfectly as if I didn't do anything, while having a nice comfy high. No one is the wiser.

I could munch on a few milligrams of alprazolam or lorazepam and still be able to get shit done.

It all depends

I don't know too many functional heroin addicts. In fact, I don't know any! And People prescribed benzos eventually become fucked in the head because after years of not being able to get into Stage IV Rem Sleep, those benzos take a strong toll on the body.

A motivated person imo would have no problem smoking cigarettes, smoking weed, and taking codein and hydrocodone on a regular basis, and still function fine in society. I'm wondering if others feel the same way. I mean, what drugs can a person take on a regular basis and not worry much about fucking up their life?

I'm a functioning heroin addict. Never lost a job. Completed college. Yeah it can be emotionally exhausting. But I handle it.

There isn't many who can do. But they exist.

A good friend of mine does dope and smokes crack every once in a while and owns one of the most successful businesses on south beach.

depend on how you can handle your drugs. i used to get coked up, take quaaludes, drop couple strong rolls, drop acid, get drunk, and smoke heroin in the bathroom(not all at the same time) in high school and i could keep my shit together.

then me and a friend did a few lines in the bathroom one day and he threw his shoe at someone in class who disagreed with him over some minor thing.

now i can take a hit of acid and the only way you could tell i'm tripping is my pupil size(i have light green eyes). but i can easily manage going in public on amphetamine pills, benzos, oxys, and while pretty drunk.

on PCP, ketamine, or large doses of DXM i can have i tough time acting normal(i tend to wander with a blank stare and have poor cordination). also on crystal meth i look like escaped from a mental hospital and i tend to be overly talkative and act a bit "wound up" so ice isn't the best choice of drug to be on in public.

anyways what the strongest drug you can keep your shit together on in public varies greatly from person to person- it can be a weak to moderate strength opiate or a powerful hallucinogen like LSD.

I don't believe addicts are functional. If you can't function without a particular drug I don't consider it functioning, even if you do still get shit done while under the influence of it. I refer to benzodiazepines as well.

This is true. I think he means being able to function in society and produce.

I know plenty of people that are very functional on opiates & smoke weed while running businesses. I would say the worst drug I have seen people on while trying to function & do well is alcohol, it just doesnt work when they are drinking & trying to run an operation.

The question isn't what drug, it's how much.

Not really. I mean, how much codeine and hydrocodone can one take? One could shoot up a lot more heroin. Plus, it's easier to come down off mild opiates.

I've got friends on coke. What a mess. They act all confident, like the world revolves around them and are just a mess, acting like total obnoxious confident dicks when they have nothing to back it up. Then you have people prescribed everything under the sun - they are like chemical waste lands and are emotionally fucked up. The heroin addicts I've seen are more chill but get absolutely nothing done. Weed bros are functional. Hydrocodone addicts I've known are functional as well and don't act all fuckin crazy. I guess you have to make a decision if you are going to use - you must decide whether or not you want to be a part of society. If you are on harder stuff I would say you probably won't really be much involved with society imo.

It's still a question of amount, tolerance, and personality quirks, far more than the actual drug of choice.

Plenty of non-opiate abusers can get totally nodded out and even sick on large doses of codeine or hydrocodone that someone with a tolerance wouldn't bat an eyelash at. "High-functioning" addicts can walk around with a blood opiate level that could kill an average individual but some of them still manage to hold down a job and support a family.

Stimulants in general are problematic because they allow your brain to function in states of sleep deprivation and stress that it would normally find unconfortable. The more dopaminergic ones can also cause mania and delusions of grandeur, i.e. turning people into egotistical cockups. But there's no reason that a small (and I mean small, like one medically prescribed tablet-small) dose of cocaine, methamphetamine, or methylphenidate wouldn't do anything but wake you up and give you some slight energy.

The real problem with drugs is the people that do them, especially those that consume in excess.

Yes. As far as I understand, amphetamines are the easiest to be functional, as they allow you to have less sleep and more function at the cost of... lifetime I suppose. We feed kids Adderall anyways!

Opiates such as methadone/subtex are really strong, but we see people on maintenance all the time.

Benzos, well they are needed sometimes. For anxious people.

Hydrocodone? Why is that? Oxycotin is sometimes given to depressed individuals and they function very well with it.

Addicts make up little of any population. We can call anyone a stoner, a meth head, dope addict, a coke fiend, if they do it once/sometimes. Psychedelic users are all crazy! But thats all untrue and generalized.

Personally i can act fine on benzos, opiates (oxy mostly), but amphetamines usually make me a little more tense, but i get shit done.

Oxycodone is NEVER prescribed for depression, sorry. Doctors are very reluctant in prescribing oxycodone these days. Almost always reserved for severe chronic pain. There are exceptions...but never for depression. Doctors are stingy with oxycodone. Don't get me wrong, its great for depression but ANY opiate is great for depression. Its too bad they cause physical dependence with daily use.

I think the post you quoted vanished.

Yea dr's are fucking stingy with the Oxycodone. I go through enough shit getting mine and my back is fucked.

valiums and benzo's.. or oxycotin if you have high mental control.. i'm addicted to oxy and got an 80+ average at university LOL
