Opioids What is the most effective way to take Actiq pops?

I take Fentanly pops as my breakthrough pain med. They normally work fine by just breaking the pop off the stick and sucking on them. However this past month I did not get the brand I wanted (Teva) and ended up with Malinkrofdt which is the same 800mcg but harder and does not dissolve quite the same and is not giving me the relief I need. Is there any way to deal with these so that they absorb better? I don't want to ask my doc for an increase in dosage and while I feel nothing from the pops they do keep the pain way normally. My pharmacist always tries to get me whatever brand I want but the wholesaler is out of the Tevas again this month so I expect to have some substandard pops again and if I can boost them in any way it would really help me out.

Anybody have any suggestions? I have been taking these for 12 years and it is only when I don't get the right brand that I end up taking more than the four a day I am prescribed and thus run out early which sucks even worse.
 
There is a post on BL suggesting that using grain alcohol on a qtip and rubbing the inside of your cheek (it will go raw, quick) help absorption. I have done it several time and.. I really don't think it made any difference. If it did the difference was minute, that being said I would consult your doctor about possible methods of speeding up delivery on these particular pops. I know exactly what you are saying, I HATE those pops. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any SAFE way to get a faster release bro. Talk to your doctor.
 
The most effective way to take Actiq is as directed by your physician.

Tampering with your fentanyl delivery system in any way shape or form is dangerous and not worth the risk. All you have to do is call your doctor if you're not getting pain relief. :|
