Does anyone know the half-life of Poppy Pod tea?? I have googled and have not been able to find an answer really. I have got some and am on Suboxone maintaince, and I know that these things seem to last longer for whatever reason than just morphine and codiene, usually the buzz last all day. So does anyone know the half-life?? Would like to know when it would be okay to take my Suboxone agian...usually I have oxy or hydrocodone or just regular morphine which I would only have to wait 12-16 hours after taking to take my Sub again,BUT I have a feeling that is not the case with pods and would not like to be thrown into precipitated w/d. Thank you ANY help would be appreciated! Really can not find an answer to this anywhere! Just gueses to why it last so long.

The problem is that there really isn't an answer. There are numerous active compounds in pods, which makes a single answer impossible. You could determine half lives for all of them, and take the longest, but that's not likely to yield results. Without taking into account for the different levels they're all present in you can't start to use math to approximate half life.

I think it's even more complicated than coming up with a mathematical model of half life based on individual half lives, concentrations present in the pods and then bioavailability of each compound, though- and that's hardly a simple project.

I suspect the exceptionally long lasting nature of pod tea is at least partially the result of the enzymes responsible for metabolizing the primary alkaloids being inhibited by the secondary alkaloids. Without someone measuring the half life in people who've consumed pod tea, as opposed to measuring half live in people taking the pure compounds, there's no real way to say, who that many compounds present the pharmacokinetics are likely very complex.

Oh okay..maybe a dumb question, but the only opiates that are in Pods are Morphine and Codiene right? Or is Thebaine considered an opiate also(I know it's used to make Hydrocodone & Oxycodone) and I think the compound Paupvair Somniferom(i know that's not spelled right) is a muscle relaxer?? So those are the main alkoids in it I guese, but are there any other OPIATES in the Pod, or is it just Morphine/Codiene??(sorry this question sounds dumb, I should know the answer to this since I did Pods before I got into pills..well bad anyway, I dabbled in pills then got on pods the got on pills bad..anyway.

The major active opioid in poppy tea is morphine. Thebaine is not a narcotic and codeine is generally only present in small amounts.
