Heroin What is the best way to treat a missed shot?

I'm pretty sure the tip of the needle went through the back of my vein, it registered but I pushed too hard and it either slipped or went through the back, there are large raised splotches all over the area.

Is a cold or hot pack better to treat this? How long will it take to recede? This has happened before but this is by far the worst and most I've missed.

Should I put cold on it at first to stop it from spreading?
After it stops getting bigger will adding heat to it reduce the swelling?

Heat, massage and compression. Should go away in a few hours.

actually something hot if it is liquid or inflamation under the skin, but something cold like ice if it is just red splotches. good luck. massaging it helps a lot too, and if you have some antibiotics hanging around and you are not allergic to them a few might help you avoid an abcess
