I want to buy a new game system.

Xbox 360, Wii, PS3?

What do you think is the best investment right now? I want to get a system that has a lot of games and fun for groups.

Thanks!

Xbox 380

PS3 price is coming down, library is still kinda weak.

Wii (own) is great for the fam. But I need my fucking man games!

Gears of War 2 and Fable 2 win. Plus others that are available on both systems. (PS3 and XBOX360)

Plus 200 gets you XBOX system and hard drive and some (lame) games

poll added.

i own all three machines, but i do not buy that many games. TBH, the one on which i have had the most fun is definitely the Wii.

I like 360. I'm a halo player so that is a huge factor for me. I'd say get the elite if ya have a hd TV. Even if ya don't it has better processors and a 120 gig hard drive which is great for copying games to use without listening to the disc motor. The controler is better for shooters as well because of stick layout. Even other games like cod world at war run better on Xbox. Xbox live is way better than ps online but its 50 a year.

If you play fighting games ps3 would be my choice. The controler is way better for fighters IMO. Fighters with an Xbox controler feel awkward to me. Of course the ps3 offers blu-ray playback which is a selling point for some. All in all I think the ps3 has a terrible library and the games that are cross platform tend to be better on Xbox.

If you really want to play in groups than the wii all the way. The controlers are very cool. Although I've really only played Wii sports and a cod game the controls were very responsive and extremely fun. The only downfall to the Wii is its lack of a lot of popular games that can even be found on both ps3 and 360.

As IP said you will have fun with all of them, its really about what you like to do. Maybe if you told us what kind of games you like we could help better.

Peace

I own a 360, its fun and has alot of good games but if you have a hd/hdmi setup and like watching movies go with ps3, wii is entertaining and has started to get good games, but for me just lost its appeal after a while
if you really care about graphics... gamespot.com has some exact shot comparison between 360/ps3

The elite has a hdmi port and has independent audio for suround sound. Its also still cheaper than a ps3. Ps3 is only better for blu-ray movies. If you have netflix Xbox live also has a netflix blade that let's you rent through it directly to your TV

IMO, PC for all my hardcore gaming habits, and wii for everything else. I had a 360 and I'm kind of glad my brother took it when he moved out because I would've ended up wasting more money on it. I'd buy a game that looked good and then realize that it just doesn't appeal to me that much. COD4 was good but better on pc. Halo 3 was an ok party game but nothing special (wii has way better party games). Mass effect got old fast on 360, but I downloaded it on pc and enjoyed it. A lot of the best 360 games I could have just gotten for free on pc actually. GTA4 was good but still just another GTA. Fable 2 was a good renter.

That's another thing, games lately are just so short and don't have much replay value. I can fire up the classic consoles any time and they're just as fun as they were back in the day. New generation shit is mostly flashy.

Overall I was disappointed in my 360. My wii is a lot of fun though. Games are cheaper too, especially on ebay. I'm really glad I made the switch. It's got a few good games for the "serious" gaming or whatever, mainly the rpgs imo, and then it's got a bunch of just fun games you can pop in whenever and have a good time. And a lot of the best high-rated games are somewhat "unpopular" and lower in price, like I just picked up Battalion Wars 2 for $14 and it's a good time.

360 ftw. yeah it may break down on you for no good reason lol, BUT it has better games and exclusive dlc plus the fact that xbox live kicks the shit out of psn. oh, and having Netflix on the 360 now owns!

if you want a blu-ray player that plays games get a ps3. if you're 12 get a wee.

Neither, the real world is much better imo! Why play football, rugby, go skateboarding or what ever games you play, when you can actualy do the real thing? It's beyond me :S!

^indeed

besides, the machine i bought is clearly better than all of the others :p
