Cos your loosers who never grew up :D

*joke before I offend someone, I myself hope to maintain a long and illustrious consumption of chemicals and psychoactive substances ;)

Haha. Mailmonkey, I'm not sure what you're on about feeling fitter and healthier than you did at 19. I'm a fucking wreck, it hurts just to sit!

Yeah I'm fekin broken mate, knees, shoulder and feet, high mileage! mind you people used to think I was about 30 when I was in my early 20's so I've grown into my feked and burned out look. Especially lately as I've lost a bit of my mid-life porkyness:)

Yeah I had people telling my I looked like I had a hard life in my 20s! Receding hairline starting at 22 didn't help. (oddly enough I think my degeneration has stalled and I don't look too bad for my age! But I'm so vain.) It's my neck and knees that I suffer with. And sometimes my shins. All that jumping about on dancefloors must have taken it's toll.

^^^

Same as mate those concrete warehouse floors were not very forging ! 7-8 years of full on ravin has taken its toll, Have you had your feet checked out, things are much improved for me after they found out my arches had collapsed, now I wear arch supports all the time and suffer much less pain.

My right shoulder sounds like a bag of gravel in it and irritated by tension I keep ripping a muscle behind my shoulder blade on that side, so much so I sold my big bike last year as it was making it worse.

But there's life in then old dog yet;)

You sound more fucked than me :D my feet are fine!

Didn't mean that to come across as cruel, glad you've got a fix for your arches!

Plus it's crossing my mind that the arches problem was causing you other problems, so just cos I haven't got sore feet doesn't mean they aren't fucked?

Must be about time for tea & scones.

I've got chromium carbide hips though. I am part bionic.

do you not get symptoms with them though? i'm also part bionic, through a reconstruction rather than replacement and its made me feel older before my time (can expect arthritis by 30, 25 now). know i've damaged a lot of my joints through overexrcise, urgh think i have damaged my hands through compulsive repetitive movement too. if you don't get any symptoms, do you mind me asking how you take care of your hips? i take glucosamine and have been doing some weight bearing exercise, the exercise made it feel like i was doing more damage than good. any advice would be much appreciated.

Soul sister. It's a curse! My neck too, on top of all the flailing about dancing.

My "compulsive repetitive movements" started off with my tongue dancing about to arpeggios in my head.

its rubbish! i'd always assumed that they'd have cured all this shit before i started to have to worry about it! at least we're getting good use out of our bodies though, would be a waste to die fully intact.

Not really no chinup, is nearly two years since they were replaced, is quite a new metal on metal joint they used for "young" active folk like me. My original hips were crumbling to buggery, and I was in constant pain, constant painkillers, lack of sleep, inacapable of staying in bed past 5am due to pain, severely restricted acitivity wise etc.....because my hips were so bad I was relying on knees too much, and they were starting to suffer too, since me hip replacements I also have no knee pain at all.

I'm not 100% pain free, but i never feel the need for painkillers any more, and most of the pain is from restretching me flexors and abductors after years of them hardly being used at all, cos me joints wouldn't allow those muscles/tendons to be used....one leg is pretty much perfect now, and probably better than most 41 year old's hips, the other has no joint pain, but stil working on the flexor, which cathes now and then, but it's nearly there.

I don't take any glucosamine, partly cos there's no joint for it to improve :D, and partly, I was taking it before my replacements and my consultant just sort of rolled his eyes and said he's not convinced glucosamine has any measurabkle success, beyond placebo.

And exercise, lol, I'm a postman! I went back to works 3 months after the bilateral replacement, and started on "light" duties for a couple of months, then pretty much back to full duties. I carry about 6 bags of mail per day, each bag starts about 20kg and reduces over the 30 mins it takes to deliver, and most of my walks are about 7-10miles depending, this bit of Devon is very hilly too, i climb over fences and walls where possible, so use my new found flexibility wherever I can.....there HAVE been days where I've felt a deep seated pain, but i tend to push through it, and think it's for the best.

I have a healthy diet, and a healthy drug intake, and as much sex as I can get.

Your about right although I'd damaged both knees playing rugby before I even started the ravin abuse !, but yes the fallen arches had actually put my hips out of line. I didn't really believe the podiatrist when she said most of my problems were down to my feet although the bad right knee had made things worse. At that point I could walk more than 100m without almost puking with the pain. These days I can walk for miles with the old pooch with very little problem. Standing for a long time is an issue but its more discomfort than the sort of unbearable pain I've been in before.

The shoulder issue is partly rave related but the real issue is tension caused mainly by stress and to many hours in front of a PC, I don't have to many problems with it these days I'm just careful not to pull it about to much hence me selling up on the ZZ1100=D

I wouldn't even talk about being 40 last year, it didn't come at a good time but I'm good with it now, I've got better things to do than be frettin about how many years I've been alive
