PLUR = Pedophiles Love Underage Ravers
The peace love unity respect thing is only real to the people that just started rolling and haven't seen what's really up with the rave culture yet. People are probably gonna disagree with me but the promoters behind the events battle amongst eachother, charge rediculous prices to get into their events, allow certain people to slang pills at their events while busting all the other dealers, charge 5 dollars for a fucking water, and do a lot of other shady shit. they Pretty much do whatever they can do to maximize the money they make while caring little about the people that attend, the most unPLUR place on earth is a rave if you really think about it.
Yea there are people at raves that are chill, but there's people everywhere that are chill. In fact at a rave the ratio of chill peole to creeper wierdo shady people is much higher than most other places.
hey heyyyyyyyyy greengun youre a bluelighter nowwelcome to more fun haha
Peace Love Unity Respect
"Why can't we see we've got to live together?"
I suppose this is more of a "drug culture" question (for which there's another forum), but since it's mostly related to MDMA, I'll give you an answer here.
PLUR is an acronym that means "Peace, Love, Unity, Respect". Sometimes people stick an additional 'R' onto the end for "Responsibility", which can be taken in various ways (e.g. no drugs, use 'responsibly', or simply be accountable for your actions). According to legend, Frankie Bones got on the microphone when a fight broke out at an event in 1989, and implored the people to stop fighting with the following heartfelt statement: "If you don't start showing some peace, love, and unity, I'll break your fucking faces" (Wikipedia: Frankie Bones).
My opinions on PLUR:
(I don't blame you for not reading beyond this point, since everyone has an opinion on PLUR, heh...)
Many "old-school" ravers will wax nostalgic about a bygone era when "PLUR was real" and everyone was just nice and happy, unlike how the rave scene is today with all of these people who "don't know the meaning of PLUR" -- this has been going on since 2000 as far as I know, so don't pay it much mind.PLUR is also often used as a rallying cry for freeloaders who want to rely on the bounty of others rather than provide for themselves. Whenever something or someone is accused of being "unPLUR", I can guarantee there's a personal grievance below the accusation that has more to do with inflated egos than actual wrongdoing.
As for how it's practiced, common PLUR actions include making sure that people who're sick are taken care of, lending people water if they really need it, sharing a smoke, or just generally being nice, agreeable, and non-combative. It's a necessarily abstract code of conduct, since it needs to appeal to a wide group of people with often very different beliefs.
I could go on, but I'll leave it at that.In my opinion, PLUR's a great idea, but is pretty much covered already by older notions about simply being good and nice to each other. It's kind of fun to have a "secret raver code of conduct"...perhaps that's it's merit. If it helps people to behave, I really have no qualms with it. *shrug*
i love that. aha

I have to agree with this.
Events are ridiculous.
but what PLUR stands for,
Means alot.

PLUR is the ethos that goes back to early American Rave.
Being fueled by peeps discovering how great E coupled with the scene felt.
Although the Brits coined the expression "Loved Up" at an earlier time.
Peace Love Unity Respect
"Why can't we see we've got to live together?"
Very cool, I never new what plur was either
and lol at the pics VincintOnE
It's a cringe-worthy expression used by kids who see the world through rose tinted glasses (and dilated pupils).
There are far better examples of people looking ugly rolling.... Hell my psychology book has a picture of a bunch of ravers rolling face....
Girl in middle isn't bad looking.... although age comes into question, definitly not worth going to jail over, definitly under 21 due to x on hand.... depending on the area couldbe over or under 18....
I have to agree with this.
