What is oxycodone like when IV'd?

This was something I've wondered about earlier. I've only taken oxycodone a few times in my life and it's always been orally (or orally + insufflated). But I was wondering what it was like when IV'd. Other opiates like hydromorphone or even morphine have pretty legendary IV reps but I've never really heard too much about IV'd oxy for some reason...my former dope dealer was a complete degenerate heroin/morphine/oxy addict but he'd only IV the first 2, always would insufflate oxy...
 
I was a devout OxyContin addict before they made the switch to the new formulas and before I made the switch to H. I've shot Oxy many times (sometimes mixed with my H), and it certainly got me well, much quicker than when orally consumed. And it felt good. But it just lasts so much longer if you eat it I just don't think it's worth IVing. I'm not sure, but I think it has a fairly high oral bio-availability.

While Hydromorphone has a terrible oral bio-availability it's almost worthless to eat. However when IV'd the rush is amazing. Doesn't have legs though. And Morphine is great to shoot, but you gotta like those pins and needles, it can almost feel like your hands, feet, butthole, and face are on fire. That of course goes away, it's just the rush and then you settle into the real high, and hopefully catch a righteous nod.
 
Oxy is one of the few opioids out there that gives better results when you eat it, snort it, or plug it than when you IV it IME. I was very disappointed the first time I slammed oxy because it didn't give me that insanely good rush I got from IVing other opioids like opana, dilaudid, and H. I would stick to sniffing it for a quicker onset and nice high or oral for the long lasting but less pronounced high. Maybe give plugging a try it works great too. The only time I enjoyed IV oxy was when I first tried slamming an old formula OC80, that was really nice. God I miss the old oxycontins they were great feeling no matter how you did them! Even smoking them occasionally was awesome! But if you have your heart set on slamming oxy just expect it to wear off much quicker and don't get excited for that awesome rush most opis give because its not too great. how much do you usually do orally/ intranasally?
 
Had my fair share of opiate experiences both iv an orally with oxy.

Stick with oral just adjust your dose according to your tolerance.

Not missin much as said before.
 
Thanks for the input guys. The only opiates/oids I've ever IV'd are heroin, morphine, fentanyl and buprenorphine. And the latter two only 1 time each...I'm currently enjoying relative sobriety but I was just curious about this topic. :)
 
It last much longer eating it but I do enjoy slamming it. It gives a nice rush but not as intense as hydromorphone, morphine, or fent. It does not last as long as as snorting/eating tho. I only have experience shooting the 10,15,20 and 30mg Roxie's, never the old school 80s, they were discontinued before I got into IV. Also have shot bupe, or am currently shooting 2-3mg a day, which gives no rush but definite glow/energy boost compared to taking SL after years on maintaince. Find the 30s best for iv as it takes at least 60-75mg of oxy for me to get the rush feeling.
 
I enjoy shooting oxy very much. Why? Because I get the full effects within 5 seconds. Yes, it wears off quicker and it's not very healthy. I prefer IV oxy over any other RoA. I have a needle fetish though.. Though I have to say, oxy works very well orally as well, and it lasts a fair bit longer. I just like the 'rush' (it's not a real rush like you get from H or whatever), but when I slam, say 100-160mg oxy, it feels pretty close to a rush to me. That lovely taste in the back of my throat, and the nice warm glow hitting me hard and fast... It does come very close to a rush IME, despite nearly everyone saying there is no rush whatsoever from IV oxy.

Overall it's not worth it if you aren't needlefreak I suppose.
