i had a terrible case of flu last week and all the cold meds were working too slow. i remembered a thread while back that opiate users dont remember getting a cold so i tried a bit of opium and it was a lil too much ( eyeball dose). i have very little experience with opiates, but this was too intense. i couldnt focus on my computer screen. my eyes were closing and my head going down.

my question is that is this wat is called the nod or is that something else. this was too intense how do the pros handle this i am surprised i mean i have gone through a gram of meth in a day, 500 mg of mdma multiple hits of lsd (different days ofcourse) but this was something else.

That was indeed the nod fondly referred to by opiate lovers. It refers to the dream-like 'nodding off' sensation that occurs when high enough. It's usually controllable to some extent. If you found you had to fight against it, then the dose was too high. However, it isn't everyone's cup of tea...It possible that it might not be yours either.

There's nothing else to say really. Follow the links Tommyboy posted for more info.
