What is nodding?

I guess im the only one who doesnt like nodding off? I dont nod off to often so thats good for me, oxy seems to only make me nod when im tired or after i took some soma or sleep aid. A heroin nod is prob different from a oxy nod right? ive never done H but isnt it more sedating than OC?
 
Falling asleep your eyes go down and close along with your eyelids, nodding your eyes go up and your eyes close, anybody who knows junkies can tell the difference between a sleep and a nod.
 
Nodding occurs when I take a high dose of a sedating opiate. I've nodded off methadone, heroin, morphine, and even suboxone. The nod on H is obviously the best. My body will feel warm, orgasmic, and numb. I'll feel incredibly euphoric and all I can focus on is how great I feel. My eyes will start to close and I'll have to force myself to open them. I will feel tired, but I won't sleep. It feels great to close my eyes, but I have to stay awake. I'll feel half asleep, in this wonderful dreamy state, and I can just sit there for hours because it feels so damn nice.

Same here...adding weed to the equation makes nodding VERY apparent. Almost to the point of annoying, IMO.

its weird cuz i feel like im about to pass the fuck out if i do up 3 dimes in about an hour. but then i manage to close my eyes n stay with it n i dont fall asleep. which is good and bad i guess cuz i like sleepin on opiates :)

and yes i smoke alot when im on H. i love that feeling off not knowing if ur awake or asleep!!
 
Does anyone here NOT like nodding on opiates? Sometimes I feel like I'm enjoying the high less, because I will nod, and then jolt back to reality which isn't the most comfortable feeling in the world. Nod...jolt...nod...jolt....repeat. I can't even watch TV, or do anything that requires me to focus my eyes. I think I'd rather just maintain the steady feeling of euphoria and actually be able to function (somewhat). I find that on oxy I get the euphoria without so much nodding, but heroin almost always induces serious nodding. Even adding a minor stimulant like caffeine won't stop the nod.
 
^^ I agree with you Sonof, sometimes I nod so hard, that I am about to pass out, and its unpleasant, I like to be conscious enough to be able to enjoy the high. When I'm slighly nodding is the only rtime I enjoy it.
 
you feel tired and fall in and out of sleep still aware of of everything around you. like if your out you can still pay attention to what people are sayin. personally i don't like that felling because i like doing stuff when doped out.

I'm nodding good right know smoking some KB and took 30mg of hydro.
(thank dog that I have a low tolerence)

Anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent nodding too hard while still being very high? :D Not sure if it's something that can be controlled however...
 
I like nodding if I'm just sitting around chilling (usually with my boyfriend, and he's usually doing it too so we can just sit there and be happy together :) ), but if I'm trying to stay awake in class it is really annoying. Also, it makes driving rather dangerous. Not a good idea to drive while nodding off.
 
has anyone tried a stimulent to try and ward off the nod? mabye something like Benzedrex? I think im going to try that soon so i will report back. Right now im nodding, it sucks, i want to do something fun but i cant stop the nod, i should just go to bed, i usually only nod when im tired anyways.

Nods

Nodding starts out as something great. In the beginning i had super lucid almost dreams where i would go in and out of complex worlds , never fully asleep and feeling great(take amphetamines with it and u can stay like this all night) now as i have been addicted for a longer time i hate nods. I don't have lucid dream thingies, those go away and now i consider it a waste of good high and spend a fortune on cigarettes burned clothing, stumbling around dropping shit. I would like to hear from other people who don't like nodding.

i made a thread about this exact same thing. i have never EVER nodded on any opiates and i have done everything except for IV'ing. i have had the most baddest ass euphoria possible with taking opiates orally and plugging them, and i get the opposite of 'nodding'. i want to go out, do things, be social, work, whatever. it makes me happy and normal, not bleary eyed and dreaming. i have no idea what this 'nodding' thing is all about, and i really don't care because it seems like a waste of euphoria, just lying down like a degenerate and drooling
