They don't make it from Khat, ever. Cathine is not a good precursor for mephedrone!

As for most often I am not in the position to say, but that would definately work. Yeah, there are many way to make cathinones. Chemically pretty similar to methamphetamine, look at all the ways to make that.

Personal communication and monitoring the headlines. Although admittedly I cant speak for everyone. Twas suggested to china that to control this item of commerce would be a way to control mephedrone production, as it really is the simplest and most easily available precursor. Obviously china wasnt too interested. :D
