What is mdi.

Dude I would test it if it is in the MDxx family it should react the same, and then you can tell us. The internet keeps on thinking I want these medical supplies, no I want to know if MDI is similar to MDA. Here, http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/4,4'-MDI this french wikipedia article infers that MDI and MDA can achieve each other easily, but I can't find where anybody says MDI has similar effects. I hope it's a different MDI than the polyurethane stuff on wikipedia.

"The major application of 4,4'-MDI is the production of rigid polyurethane. Typically, one tonne of polyurethane foam needs 0.616 tonne of MDI and 0.386 tonne of polyol, with 0.054 tonne pentane as a blowing agent.[citation needed] These rigid polyurethane foams are good thermal insulators and used in nearly all freezers and refrigerators worldwide, as well as buildings. Typical polyols used are polyethylene adipate (a polyester) and poly(tetramethylene ether) glycol (a polyether).
4,4'-MDI is also used as an industrial strength adhesive, which is available to end consumers as various high-strength bottled glue preparations."

...I really hope that's not what the OP means.

You sure it isnt 5,6-Methylenedioxy-2-aminoindane (MDAI)?

But remember, just because it has MD at the start of the chemical name, DOES NOT mean its a safe, or fun, chemical

Indeed. Even MDAI isn't particularly fun, despite its relative safety.
