Ketamine What is ketamine therapy like?

In Switzerland they give you I think 84mg nasally. It's not a hole dosage. And there is some bullshit attached like mandatory vital sign monitoring when ket is used as an anaesthetic literally because it does not suppress respiration like other sedatives do. In some places you even get infusions instead of nasal spray.

I'm in the U.S., and I've had Ketamine therapy twice where I talked to my therapist (we didn't talk a lot lol) who was on a video chat while I was tripping/disassociating.

So, in MY particular instance (cause it's done in different ways) this was a sublingual lozenge. I'm told not to eat anything and I take some drug for my stomach so it won't get upset. I let the lozenges dissolve under my tongue (I'm forgetting the different doses I've tried right now) and my therapist suggests Spotify playlists which are just good for it. Nothing with a lot of vocals and certainly nothing with actual lyrics. The right music will REALLY enhance the experience.

I then lie there listening to the music for approx. 2 hours before the Ketamine wears off. It's SUPER powerful. From what I'm told, the level I use is NOT "K-hole level" cause you remember what happened, but it's hard so I have to tell my therapist everything I saw/thought/imagined IMMEDIATELY once I come down or as I'm coming down.

She writes down all the imagery I describe and then we talk about it then and on other days when I'm sober. Of course, figuring out what it all means is hard, but that's just what it is.

I have really enjoyed it. Have I had insights? Yes, I have. Are they lasting? Who knows.

Now there are other types of higher dose Ketamine therapy where you either snort it or have it injected, and in those cases you are generally not talking to your therapist AT ALL until it has 100% worn off. In those higher dose cases, you are not going to be capable of talking AT ALL till it's over, so that's the difference. That's TRUE K-hole territory. I'd also kind of like to try that at some point, but at this lower dose you can actually explain what happened.

If you've got any questions, let me know.

I also personally feel the higher-dose sublingual effects to be very dreamy. You are life half-awake wandering between states and considering what dreams might have meant some of the time, then other times just gone on whatever you were last thinking about, like some live a TV show, or whatever.

Why isn’t ketamine available to people with a history of psychosis? Has anyone diagnosed with schizophrenia taken ketamine? What happened?
They say the same thing about psilocybin, mescaline and LSD, however not true with psilocybin or mescaline.
Lies, lies, lies, more lies bullshit powers that be don’t have a real clue about the truth.
I haven’t used ketamine but if the shoe fits.
The dissociative effect may not produce psychosis as professionals claim. I say ketamine should be available to anyone regardless of history.

I agree that it should be available to people with schizophrenia. I'm not even sure that actual psychedelics shouldn't be. I mean, if you are an adult and you sign a form then that should be that. You gave your consent, and that's all that's necessary.
