What is hash?

Hash is concentrate. There are a lot of different forms. Hash is not the name for pressed keif. Pressed keif can be a form of hash. I like extraction methods better than dry sifted keif. Hash should have all of the oils and resins in it still, dry keif does not.

I don't think it's worth it to press your keif. You should just smoke it on top of bowls, it will burn better. Its just unnecessary.

Once you try excellent bubble hash and other types concentrates you will see the difference between merely having pressed keif and true extracted hashish.

Good Bubble hash is my favorite. I like it better than hash oil even because it still has all the flavors from the plant.

No, hash is an agglomeration of trichomes. Solvent extracts are not hash. Driy kief consists of intact trichomes, and has all of the oils and resins in. Bubble hash does not, as the water soluble terpenoids are lost.

Morocco, Lebanon and Afghanistan disagree.

Check out this article, or at least the pictures and different ways of making hash.

Extracts as in butane extract aren't really hash, they're hash oil.

Bubble hash isn't really an extract. Water and ice are used to break the trichome heads off and then they're collected.

It's the same as finger hash or kief, just more pure because you get less extra plant matter (not trichomes) in the bubble hash.

hash is supposed to be like weed extract. but not quite, keef is the REAL weed extract. but it is extracted weed with higher potency. even has a different taste. its pretty cool, but ill stick to my green.

Thanks for clarifying my mistake. My wording was wrong using extraction. I should have just said various methods. I did know all of this I was being a little lazy posting that. I extract BHO frequently and have smoked lots of amazing bubble hash from the smallest bags.

Honestly I really enjoy good nugget better. It has all the flavors and goodness still there.

Because hash is compressed and kief isn't. Something is done to change it.

Pressed keif is very common in my area.
Its much different than hash & i wouldnt consider it hash.

Ive seen many hash' that are not compressed, they are like dense clumps of sand.
Scooped straight from the bag onto the tray and dried. Alot of times i see it at dispensarys called "full melt" and i lol.

I think both terms should be clarified. I see lots of different opinions in this thread on what each are.
Imo keif is dry/ tumble extract concentrate &
Hash' are water/oil extract concentrate.
What does king hash say?

Well, you're free to define your terms however you want, but the term "hashish" as it has been understood by people throughout history does refer to pressed kief, and not to solvent extracts. If you want to define "hash" as not including pressed sieved glands, that's fine, but you've decided that most of what most of the world calls hash is not actually hash. Water extracted hash is hash because it is, like traditional hash, an agglomeration of resin glands. BHO is not hash because it is not an agglomeration of glands. I think this'll be my last post ITT, I'm just repeating myself/flogging a dead horse.

The kief in your area probably has more plant matter in it then the hash you've seen, which would make it a lower quality.

The water method of hash doesn't work using an extraction, ice and water are used to make the heads of the resin glands brittle and then you agitate the bud making the heads break off. Then the heads are pressed into hash, which is the same thing as pressed kief. Oil extractions make hash oil, which is different from hash.

All of this information has been posted before in this thread.

Yeah the grinder screens do not give you very pure keif, lots of plant matter. If you sift it through something finer maybe you can get something more quality with good buds.
