What is best way to test for presence of RC's and LSD

I just picked up some alex gray image blotters and I have some old ones that have been sitting around too...

I just ordered a brand new Mecke and Marquis that should be here soon ... Will those work OK to test presence of 25-X , DOB, DOI and other LSD "mimics" ?

Are the above mentioned good tests for presence of LSD? I know that you will say Ehrlich reagent is the best for LSD, but all I have at my disposal is a brand new Mecke and Marquis....

If so, what is the best way to test a blotter? It has a colorful image, so will the ink mess up the the reagent puddles?

Mecke/Marquis don't react to indoles AFAIK, so you can confirm the presence of RC's etc (well, whatever the kit WILL react to) however if there's no reaction to indicate a particular compound being present, it is NOT in any way confirming the presence of LSD.

ehrlich reagent will indicate the presence of an indole. a combination of ehrlich/mecke/marquis could narrow things down pretty conclusively

though keep in mind you can't know for an absolute certainty what you have unless you have access to e.g. NMR, IR, GC/MS, or a combination thereof. though reagent testing is certainly better than nothing.

It contains some info and a FAQ that might be useful to you.

Marquis can be used to preliminarily identify (indicate for) 25X-NBOMe and DOX, however since the dosage is pretty low you might not see the color change very clearly and require more than one hit to test. First extract your blotter by soaking it in a very small bit of solvent and testing the resulting bit of liquid with your reagent.
I guess try extracting it with water first and see what comes up, then optionally also try extracting with alcohol. That way you may run less risk of extracting ink since alcohol is probably the better solvent for both the drugs and the inks, extracting ink obviously might develop coloration before ever adding your Marquis.

Always be aware that negative result for DOX and other phens does not immediately guarantee you are good to go. Always assume there might be another lace and start low i.e. part of a hit instead of multiple ones.
