What is 5HTP pills???

I have heard of em and i have been thinking about taking them but before i take them i wanna know a little more about them. How do 5HTP pills affect my health??? is it more like taking a type of drug or more like taking a vitamin??? or neither??? How do they affect my brain and mental well being??? are there long term effects from them???

Technically it's not a vitamin, it's a dietary supplement in many countries. A popular serotonin and melatonin precursor, mainly used to increase serotonin levels in the brain. Consequently, it lifts your mood.

Shouldn't be taken for more than 90 days straight without a break. Serotonin levels may get too high.
