When I see adults playing out these roles of dominator/victim I see damaged children inhabiting adult bodies. For me this elicits a very human (empathetic) response. Do you never feel that?

I for one have a lot of trouble empathizing with the abuser, even if a causal explanation of their psychology partially exculpates their ethical responsibility.

If she has free will then so do I. Your questions are specious.

I don't think ones free will should effect anothers free will. I believe in free will, but I beliee that the freedom to swing your fist ends where anothers face begins.
But it depends on which you value more. I think her free will is more important than her life.
