I really do want to get help and get clean, and went to a clinic that specialized in addictions last week. They prescribed me one 8mg suboxone every day that I need to go pick up, but I have used Oxy every day since going into the clinic. What will happen to me if they find out/I tell them I'm still using? Oxy is the drug I'm trying to kick but even with subs I get reallly strong cravings and end up using. I have my first follow up in 4 days and I'm not sure what will happen/they will do...

you're not going to feel the subs work correctly until you're actually in severe oxy WD's.i used to bang a few bags going into detox, get my 1st dose of subs around 5pm and was sick the whole stay.you're gonna get cravings,of course cause you're still using oxys.it's almost as if both drugs are cancelling themselves out.you don't feel the oxys 100% cause the bupe in the subs and you won't feel the subs do their job cause you're still flooding your system with opiates.if they do find out via testing they may either cut you off or raise your dose.i've seen that happen.cravings were so bad the user kept banging H while taking subs.once he was raised a few mgs more and put the smack down everything seemed to fall into place, but you've really gotta be in heavy WD's for subs to work 100%.

the last time i went to a detox i went in sick.by 11am i was on the floor puking.by 12pm the Dr. finally saw me in his office and one look he knew i wasn't playing sick.gave me my 1st 8mg and had me lay down.20 minutes later i was asking for something to eat.they will work, you just gotta tough it out for a day to get sick and let the magic happen...

Hey man, just stick it out through the withdrawl symptoms. I know they are horrible ive been through them...recently (I got 20 days clean today from all drugs). They did not put me on a suboxone program though, instead they used hydrocodone (vicodin) to detox me. Its rough up until about day 5, but after 5 days i will guarantee you see improvements. Just think, you can have a world beyond your wildest dreams if u just stick it out and dont use. You may have to go to a rehab and if you do, you do...its not that bad. Trust me you would rather detox in a rehab where they WILL give you something rather then keep using, getting arrested and then detoxing in jail cold turkey. Get some phone numbers of people you can call when u feel like using. Lemme know how you do man, I feel your pain and hope you the best.

BTW if u use while on suboxone they dont work the way they are supposed to work. Call them up and tell them the 8mg isnt working and u still use cause your craving that bad...they may raise ur dose.

You should be careful you can really mess yourself up if you don't dose your subs correctly. You're not supposed to, medically, take suboxone until 36 hours after your last use...which to an opiate addict sounds ridiculous because if I could be clean that long I wouldn't have a problem right?

But if you dose your subs too soon after you used, basically if a lot of the opiate is still in your body, binding to your opioid receptors, you can begin to have precipitated withdrawals which are not fun. Also, you need to wait an hour or so, from my experience, to feel the full relief of the suboxone. So be careful...the first time I used subs correctly to get off of dope I went to a residential detox which was great. I could not have done it on my own, that's a fact. And once you come out of one round of detox on the other side you have the hope that if need be, you can do it again. Good luck

It depends on the clinic and their policies.

I think the best course of action is to tell your drug counselor or whomever exactly wwhat has happened, they can help you figure out the least painful way to get on subs.

I just don't want tO get booted out of the program so I don't know whether my best course of action is lying or telling them everything...

Most programs would rather have you confess what you've done wrong so they can set you back on the right path. it's generally only when they've given you multiple chances to get clean and you show no intention of doing so that they will boot you out.

As I said before though it really depends on your program. if you want the best possible results, your doctors should know everything about your drug habit. That's the purpose of these suboxone clinics - they don't work if you're not honest.

Do not think you are the first person to screw with their formula. They will not be shocked. You are doing what addicts do, which is use drugs. But if they don't know the truth, they can't help you.

If you want to keep shooting OCs don't bother telling 'em, I guess, and carry on.

Just be truthful with them, if you lie there just gonna know anyway. Their not dumbasses, there doctors for a reason. Plus if you lie about using there gonna know with a simple drug test. Be honest. The best will come from that.

Yeah, I realize that's what I need to do. I am seeing a drug counselor at the same clinic today so I'll tell them what's happening. And I'm not shooting, I'm eating.

If you have any other questions about sub's message me. Been on it 44 days now. I can help with any questions or problems you have from the beginning stages.

There's plenty of public Suboxone discussion on these forums (see the OD directory in my sig), no need to PM.
