What happened to responsible drug use?

Hey there, didn't know where to place this, thought this forum would be most appropriate.

Skimming through the other drugs and dark side forums, all I see is "relapse" and "addiction" and etc, etc, etc.....

Before I saw all this shit I used to think of myself as a good drug user (well, still do, sorta). I would do cocaine once in a while, smoke weed all the time, do K, shrooms, and ecstasy here and there. I would never think of it like "im addicted" or "i have a problem".

But seeing all these messed up people, it makes me feel bad because I feel like one of them now when I do drugs. I am not addicted, well I am partially addicted to cocaine (maybe 4 times a month, nothing serious). But I just cant do drugs the same anymore after coming on these forums.

I always think im going to end up like some of the people on the dark side forums, wtf? Wheres all the responsible users, who have a strong sense of self-control, and admit freely to doing drugs because they know they have total control over there actions?

Maybe if I see some responsible users put in their 10 cents I will feel better, any comments, anyone agree/disagree? Peace, Kastro

i don't even like going to the dark side forum just because it makes me sad. my non-responsible drug use excuse is that it's summer. whats yours?

I guess my excuse is its summer as well..

I start school in September and thats when I am going to put everything down for a while, then probably party up on new years and the Christmas holidays..

But who knows how long that will last, I always devise little plans to stop smoking weed n shit and it never works!

I have control over my drug use, I only use drug during school vacation, and even during school vacation I only use once a week. When school starts I don't even use drug.

That's not true. I consider myself a very responsible drug user, and it's far from boring. Don't worry, there are people out there that can handle the drugs that they take, but I know what you mean. It's easy to take too much, and let things like addiction take over.

i think a lot of users start out as responsible users, who think they can control their usage, but then they get addicted, and well, you have the dark side. you may think you have total control over your actions, but once you are truly addicted to something, you dont really have control over it.

good luck not getting addicted Kastr0.

Definetly! I used to call this forum the Therapy Forum, because all of these "how much do you spend on drugs?" sort of threads have always made me feel a lot better about my own use! :)

I found that Bluelight is VERY helpful and informative but there are certain threads and things that can be disconcerning for me, especially since (I don't like to admit it) I'm quite influenced by things and if I read certain things on here like 'train wrecks' and 'things that go bad while on drugs', it will kill my high and make me feel bad..or sometimes confused. So ya gotta be selective with what you are going to read if you are easily influenced like me....most of the stuff on here is great though!!! :)

I am actually surprised by the amound of responsible drug use in the world. Before i found this forum i didnt know it existed... OK so i didnt know much about drugs at all, but still.

Anyway - what do you expect, it is the Dark Side.

Reading stuff like this makes me feel crappy cos i dont do enough drugs. Im getting some tomorrow! Go Me!

Bluelight definitely makes me feel better. We should start our own country named Bluelight. Could you imagine the possibilities.....

But then you don't hear stuff like, "These pills kick ass! I went up to the hills with my girl the other day, and it only took me three pills to roll! When I rolled two days before that, I needed five!" or "Like, if you get a couple boxes of Coricidin and eat 'em, it's totally like taking acid, and it's way safer".

Those are almost direct quotes, and they're all from 15-16 year olds I've run into. And yes, I'm running into 15-16 year olds because I'm a huge sex pervert. Or friends of my friends think it's totally cool to bring their little brother/sister along to party.

To me responsible use is knowing all the risks involved in a given activity and making an informed decision based on "what do I get thats good out of this drug vs. what bad things will happen if I use this drug". Responsible use also takes into account the people you are in contact with (family, friends, community, employer etc.) that are going to be or could be affected by your use.

It's a fine balancing act of health, pleasure and respect for others. Most of us are not good at or incapable of responsible use whether it's nicotine or crack. Thats why most of us on BL seem out of control while preaching responsible use. It is very hard to be a responsible user of any drug 100% of the time.

For those who are able to practice responsible use 100% of the time I give you my thanks for setting an example and my respect for doing what i can not do as well as you.;)
