what happened? shot up and maybe I missed?

I was going to get high today. I hit a vein in my hand like I always do, blood came back into the needle so I went to push it down. All of a sudden my hand felt like it was on fucking fire and swelled up to three times its size. The swelling has gone down a little bit over the course of a few hours but is still swollen. This has never happened to me before. I mean, I have missed in the past, but nothing like this. My hand literally felt like it was on fire, it was the most intense pain of my life. I actually started to scream it hurt so bad. Now my hand looks like a fucking catcher's mitt, but I have regained mobility with it, and can almost make a fist.

This ever happen to anyone else? Any idea what happened?

i've been going in this same spot for years now and this is the first time this has happened! will the swelling completely subside? It's gone down quite a bit but it's still swollen.
