What great band have you just discovered?

Amr Diab...

He's no musical genius (pure pop basically) but I'm addicted to his catchy-ass tunes & good (IMO) voice - conveys a lot of passion. Can't speak a word of Arabic, so I'm sure I won't be getting big into his music... not to mention it's pretty pulpy pop. But his music has been running through my head for the past 5 days, constantly.

P.S. for those wondering, he's an Egyptian pop singer who is huge in the Arab world.

Paolo Nutini-makes me feel really good-great early morning music to set the tone of the day..

Thievery Corporation-pretty trippy, great to unwind and indulge in a dank bowl after a tough day..

Jens Lekman - Nice delicate acoustic coffeehouse folk*
A Sunny Day in Glasgow - Shoegazey, poppy, noise

Jens Lekman

yes, he is a good one. have you heard Sondre Lerche?
yea, but I'm not so hot about Sondre Lerche... it just seems kinda trite. But... I'm very picky and don't necessarily like similar artists. It just doesn't do it for me. It took a looooong time for me to appreciate Jens, his 2007 album is what I really like; his previous works never got me excited or interested.

Not really a "band" but I just discovered The Avalanches and their 2001 release Since I Left You. It is a great record.

i see. a couple of his songs are good. mostly, i don't like him that much. i was unaware of your similar artist policy. heh. figured i'd make a suggestion. :) just as well.

No policy, just snobbery ;)

jens lekman = acoustic coffeehouse folk? i love night falls over kortedala but wouldn't describe it like such.

I've know of MGMT for some time now, but of recent I've had Time to Pretend and Oracular Spectacular playing pretty constantly. I like it, a lot.

I'm not sure if they're called Chicken Feet or -Feed but I heard part of one song that I liked on the radio, some hard rock stuff that I'm waiting to hear again. I must have the name really wrong because a google search got me nowhere.
