I could only get a 22G x 3/4" because it was from sterile vet supply. Its hard because it takes longer to heal and you can punch right through muscle and both sides of the vein. But i dont know how else to get a sterile sharp here in VT. woh wohhh

Yep, I got the same size sitting around cuz it was all I could grab.

An old friend of mine completely fu*ked up his veins so he was using these ridiculously long and large gauge needles to hit veins in his leg, once he hit an artery and threw the needle across the room, nearly hitting my face, lucky as I found out later he had HIV

I only have 29G insulin and 25G needles. It depends on what I shoot. My micron wheel filter only fits on the 25G beast. Hopefully I'll keep my habit down, else it's gonna be damn obvious real soon.

^ So why not filter with the 25 gauge then piggyback that into the 29 gauge and use that to shoot? There's no reason to destroy your veins with such a large gauge.
Thats what I used to do when I had micron filters that fit on a large ass 22 gauge (luer lock). I would filter then squirt the solution into the back of a normal 29-30 gauge insulin syringes to shoot it. I never even considered putting a 22 gauge in my veins. I wouldn't use anything larger than 27/28, actually.

when i was iv'ing dilaudids 2 years ago i was working at a vet clinic, and had access to the syringes for vaccines. they were less than 26g, i'm thinking 21 or 22... 3 cc, and i can't remember what brand they were. don't know that i ever looked.

I always used BD ultrafines 1cc, i think they were 29g. You can buy fit packs from vending machines where i am with everything you need in em.

I posted earlier and was kinda suprised that I was dumber than usual... Anyways, 25G is insane, and I only use it for filtering (it fits a wheel filter and the smaller one-pieces don't). Those needles aren't going near my body again unless I decide to repierce my ears.

well, lately I have just been using veterinarian needles. they are pretty big (25g), so they hurt but MAN they are so much easier to register with... ehh, i guess that's why i like 27 gauge so much, its small enough not to leave huge holes but big enough that you can register with fairly easily.

yeah all i can get is 22g from vet supply. It sucks but I only use it max a few times a week.

the only needles i ever used were form the veterinarian office i worked at as well... i didn't mind the large gauge. i was a phlebotemist for years and was quite used to drawing my own blood with 20g on a regular basis. i only iv'ed 2 or 3 times a day for about 6 months, so i didn't do too much damage to my veins using the larger needles. barely have any scars.

The turumo 1.0mL 27G x 1/2" is what they generally give you at the needle exchange when you're not sure what you need.

But I find it better to get the 3mL BD luer-lok tip syringe (not that I need anywhere near 3mL I use the same amount of water as I would in the other kind, but the 3mL has a bigger end and plunger bit so its easier to hold and easier to put your shot away if you have un-co, shakey hands) and then you get the BD PrecisionGlide 27G x 1/2 " needle to twist on.

which means you wont blunt the needle by accidently pressing it into the metal spoon because you draw up your taste into the syringe before you attatch the needle to it.

It also means you can use the twist on wheel filters,YAY!

The finest one (blue) is 0.22 micron (a micron is a thousandth of a millimetre), if you have a thick solution you can piggyback a coarser wheel filter to the blue wheel filter so it removes largest particles first and then the blue wheel doesnt get blocked. This will remove ALL bacteria from your taste and therefore any larger contaminents like moulds, fungi spores, chalk (it can't remove the water or the drugs or any viruses, because they're much smaller than the filter size). If you only filter with a piece of cotton wool or ciggie filter it only removes anything larger than 50 microns, so there can still be plant fibres, mould, bacteria, etc. in your taste.

Injecting impurities into your bloodstream can cause vein damage, dirty tastes, abscesses, endocarditis (infection of the heart valves), organ damage, blood poisoning, and chronic infections that lower the state of your health and immune system.

So in conclusion, my way is best.

The wheel filters they give you (in New Zealand anyway..) can fit any gauge needle you decide you want with them, because the actual luer-lock part at the base of the needles is a plastic thingymabob that is uniform in size availiable with whatever gauge needle you choose.

That's retarded some places don't have needle exchanges. Needle exchange saves lives!
If you don't have an exchange in your neighbourhood do you still manage to get swabs and sterile water and everything.
for us you just go into any needle exchange, one needle like the turumo kind is 85cents NZD which is like 40cents american, and any used ones you put in your used fits container and when you take them in, however many's in there is how many free ones you get. So you only ever buy one batch of needles, then from then on they are free, and the alcohol swabs and sterile waters are cheap cheap cheap! Junkies don't usuially have money to spare, and re-using needles even if it's not shared can kill you.
What kind of country cares more about drugs being illegal than killing people, drugs are illegal BECAUSE they kill/harm people, so obviously that's what's important.

the vending machines i've used in qld hospitals have only ever dispensed the needles to me and at $2 a piece!. i went to the section to ask for a full fit pack but they were arrogant enough to turn me down and tell me to use the vendor.
