I have had stomach issues most of this week. I thought it was from some minor kratom withdrawal but thankfully Im pretty sure its flax seed which is the only other addition I made to my diet.

My stomach has been knotting and twisting and turning and cramping up to the point my sleep has been affected and even felt slightly delerious.

Thing is I noticed flax is great for my stools, whereas the non fatty fibre alternatives, such as wheat bran and psyllium husk, were not.

I thought it was just cos i was using the whole seed and not breaking it down first. But I miled them in my blender last night ready for this morning. and i just had one spoonful and the quesy stomach has affected me even faster! So i guess it must be a sensitivity to the actual fat/plant matter.

So are there any other fatty high fibre and also cheap! alternatives?

Kind of expensive but walnuts come to mind. Walnuts like flax seed have lots of fiber and fattiness with a goodly amount of omega 3. Avocados are fatty and fibrous but their fat is mostly poly unsaturated similar to olives. Decided to check if olives have much fiber, not very much.

i did some lookng and hemp seeds and chia seeds are alterantives. i cant see hemp seeds being edible form the bag they would probably rip my insides worse than the flaxx.

You may be overdoing the type of fiber. I don't know. When I was eating a diet of almost all avocados and strawberries I seemed to do alright.

Hemp seeds if hulled are soft, and have a lot of the insoluble fiber taken away.

The deleriousness makes me think possible ulcer. I don't know.

Yup i actually thought ulcer too. its a feeling of wanting to burp as well but cant. ive had an ulcer before a few years back and i think it feels the same.

Anyway i took a tea spoon of chia seeds today and no stomach upset to speak of- within an hour of the flax i was feeling quite ill and continued to do so on and off till the next morning. I still think i may have bruised my stomach or whatever from all that fiber so i will try and take it easy for a while.

Yes but if the hemp seeeds are hulled wont that remove most of the fiber content which is the whole point of tkaing them in the first place?

Ye i just checked and the fibre content goes down to only 5.9 perr 100g then so defeats the object.

These chia seeds seem promising tho and even have more fibre than flax
