What drug subcultures do you least like? v. Seat's taken! Ya can't sit here!

Potheads who insist that pot isn't actually a drug, or that everybody should smoke pot, or that being high is somehow good for you, or that weed "doesn't have a comedown," or who know full well you don't smoke but still pass the doobie over every time you hang out with them. These people just identify way too strongly with their drug of choice and they can't see the downsides, they really have huge blind spots about it. I also find that they have a tendency to look down on people who use "hard" drugs, and to subtly exclude people who don't smoke whenever they hang out.

Also, certain types of e-tards. I'm actually not talking about the ravers, I'm talking about the people who just do E at home and yammer on non-stop about how E doesn't cause brain damage, can legitimately strengthen relationships, is a substitute for therapy, etc. There is some scientific support for these claims of course, but there's also a ton of support for the opposite statements. It's basically a milder version of the weird ambassador-like behavior you get from potheads, only far fewer e-tards seem to be like it than potheads are.

I dont judge peoples kinks or highs, but heroin dopeheads seem to dislike me (speedfreak) out of the whole bunch, so for that reason i dont like that subculture

Stoners that say that their philosophy on drugs is that if it grows naturally in the ground it is OK. Have they ever heard of the poppy plant, or any of the many poisonous plants? Furthermore do they know how far from natural the weed is today?

damn those straight edgers and drinkers that think they are sooo much better than everyone else when they are the most boring fucks ever. really jangles my jimmies

The ones that always asks you for another bump or hit. Especially the ones that complain after you give them drugs. They complain it's not enough, but then I won't have enough. IT'S YOUR FIRST TIME, I UNDERSTAND, BUT PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT I PAID FOR THIS BAG. BEGGARS CAN'T BE CHOOSERS. Maybe I'm just stingy, but I try to share as much as I can.

Oh God yes...

Stoners and psychonauts can be and usually are some pretty all right, laid-back, chill individuals. But when they get all preachy and start to go on about what's "natural" and everything else, oh man, I just cannot stand it.

Getting teased with just enough of any drug to barely feel it drives me insane, if you don't have enough, you're better off just not giving any out....

So, I have used basically all the drugs that can be used and have been a part of nearly every "subculture" at one point or another. I'll rank them from least annoying to most:

1. MDMA users---not the rave scene, but people who use MDMA in their homes or in a park with close friends. This was probably the least overall annoying group to be a part of, obviously partly because MDMA makes you empathize with others but mostly because so little bad came out of it. It never turned into fiending "we have to roll everyday" mindset, it never took on MDMA is the only drug for me, and it mostly just brought some already good friends closer. Having said that, I have little to no interest in doing that drug ever again as it is just too mentally/physically draining and the allure of it wore off.

2. Stoners--- yes, they can be annoying. But really, they are naive and fairly innocent, for the most part. They don't know any better, and hey, if they feel a little cool for being "rebellious" in smoking the ganj let them feel it. And if they start to get preachy or whatever, eh who cares, having been an avid pot smoker for years I know how that shit messes with your mind so I give them some space. The only thing that really is annoying about them is the overanalyzation that results in social awkwardness often (and I've been there but it's really annoying to be around stoned or not stoned).

3. Psychedelic Users---ah, these are a fun bunch. I definitely had a period where I thought hallucinogens had most of the answers to the universe, and I wasn't afraid to talk about it! And that's the problem! Tripping certainly alters your perspective and makes you more aware/appreciative of many aspects of life that before seemed mundane or stale, but damn, it really doesn't change you all that much for the better. The snobbery of psych users is easily what makes them so annoying.

4. Opiate/Benzo users--the downers. This is the group I always felt "the best" in because I just personally prefer downer drugs. Of course, these fuckers (opiate users in particular) can't be fully trusted when they are on a full habit. But when everyone has their junk in them, the mood is chill and conversation can flow easily. It's pretty nice actually. However, these days, I'd rather just use alone because that's what happens when you mess with smack.

5. Alcoholics- ugh, alcohol. What a disgusting drug. Sure, I don't mind a beer or two here and there, but man this is a nasty drug that somehow is widely accepted. It brings out some of the worst in people at all times and generally always leaves the people a complete mess physically, emotionally, and/or mentally. I just really don't like anything about the alcohol culture.

6. Last is the speedy folk. I have never seen meth/known any users, so I will leave them out of here. But I have indulged in coke, crack, and amphetamines on various occasions. Coke can sometimes be fun, but overall, this category produces the most frustrating subculture to be around. People become paranoid, ego-filled, emotionally wrecked, angry, scared, word-vomiting, fiending creeps. I say this acknowledging the fact that I STOLE what seemed like an 8 ball of coke and proceeded to use it for the next 48 hours non-stop, even went in to work that day with coke and heroin on me and kept snorting in the bathroom. Fuck speed.

So true, i hate that they look down on us as if some how superior because they consume a taxable depressant in a social setting,
''what did you do this weekend?''
''down the bar poundin some brews, you?''
''candy flipped with some friends with a nice indica/benzo come down''

i know which one id prefere, and which is cheaper..

I mostly agree with all of your post but you especially hit the nail on the head with smokers and psyche users. I also feel that so many weed smokers feel rebellious by smoking weed and most wouldn't admit it. I only realized it myself after quitting smoking that I always DID feel more adult and cool whenever I smoked outsides Then again when you're teenager, almost every drug makes you feel cool, but I know some 30+ guys who still think they're cool because they smoke some flower. It's so obvious to them that MJ is the logical alternative to booze and every single person in the world should smoke too and they feel so smart for figuring this out lol.
But I can't say I would like them the least because they are definitely the least agressive drug users, which is a giant plus.

I also believe that for most people psychedelic drugs can't actually improve their lives, after every good LSD trip I usually felt very good and calm for several days or even weeks after the trip, but from really long term view I don't think LSD changed my life at all. Always think I figured out something genius and after few months I don't remember any of it or even realize it's bullshit lol, generally it's just a fun time like any other/non-psychedelic drug.

My most hated would have to be either:
1) Alcoholics, or even people who drink on weekends and think they're cool for getting fucked up and doing dumb shit.
2) Teenage drug abusers, the ones that take whatever legal highs they can find at the local headshop, "drink 'n' smoke", and now "doin mollies" is getting real big in my area for kids. They're such assholes to everyone too, and are just looking to get fucked up, rebel against their parents, and not go to school.
I think I'm gonna have to say 2 is worse though.

this new breed of young "one week out of the year i'm gonna use my birthday money to go to my favorite EDM festival and roll my face off in a crazy outfit" really pisses me off. they like to claim their spiritual mumbo-jumbo and how much they love the music but it's pretty apparent the girls use it as a place to "be seen" and the bros are hard on the prowl for a scantily clad scene-girl rolling hard enough to be trusting of strangers yet drunk enough to make questionable sexual decisions. possibly for more ecstasy.

i think they piss me off so much because they see themselves as carrying some mind-expanding torch of a new generation, and there's are not the hands to be trusted for the job. there are plenty of folks who still embrace the psychedelic culture and are incorporating their positive psychedelic experiences in their daily lives. during festival situations or other times the "weird comes calling", i have a great time with my friends tripping off whatever comes our way (from a trusted source of course) and enjoying the music and the crowd and the new experiences. we just happen to do so while remaining true to who we are the other 360 days out of the year and incorporating what we've learned into our lifestyles.

after building all of this positive collective experience are we really gonna let an E fueled slumber party of teenage girls wearing cringe-worthy costumes complete with disposable shame become the vanguard of modern psychedelic culture?
