What drug describes YOU!

It's clear the man is a savant, can we move on now?

Heh! A savant? I wish.

I'm just a lonesome man who couldn't carry a conversation if its mass were less than a photon. Intelligence is some of the time by most of the people regarded as the most valuable trait a human can possess. It trumps beauty, it trumps wealth (money - brains = no money; and no brains + money = eventually no money), it is a greater virtue than wisdom because without intelligence wisdom cannot be derived from experience, and so on.

But that's the opinion of the unintelligent majority, not a notion intelligent people would find believable.

I feel like a retarded 10 year old in a university physics class, only the other way around. To be intelligent means to be ridiculed, envied, held to unrealistic expectations and lambasted and berated if you fail to meet them, feeling isolated and deprived of a social life outside academia, and I could go on but will leave you with that.

Intelligence is nothing more than trenchant isolation, in both senses of the two words.

So what do you want to do with your maths degree?

I don't have a maths degree. I got a two- year undergraduate certificate in pure mathematics at IIT Madras in India when I was 17. I had matriculated into the postsecondary school right after I wrapped up my secondary education at 15.

The B.Sc I hold is not related to maths, but to physical science.

photons dont have any mass

Yeah, that was the joke. I couldn't carry (in the sense of "lift") a conversation even if it were of no mass. A photon travels at c (speed of light) because it has no mass. The speed of c is not possible to reach for an object with mass.

I did 3 years of physics and physical chemistry as an academic requirement; and I've invested countless hours learning about it autodidactically in my spare time. The elementary physics lesson is not something I require.

aside from that i havnt got a clue what your on about

Oh, really? Sorry.

If that confounded you, however, you'd probably sustain a brain implosion if you tried yourself at Hegel or James Joyce's Ulysses (never mind his impenetrable Finnegans Wake; that might get too messy)

what drug best describes you

Hmm. I'm tempted to answer with the one I'm typically on—barbiturates. But I think the drug most like me when I'm sober is a sympathomimetic; probably cocaine or 4-MAR.

Why? I'm hyper, seldom sleepy, prone to circumlocutory verbosity, talk at a fast pace but think much faster, prone to hyperfocus, can't stop thinking about everything to do with anything, energetic and so forth.

I never usually bother posting or looking in threads that arnt about drugs. Unless to make some shit pointless remark. I have nothing to say on non focus forums. I stop giving a fuck halfway through the post. Im shit at socialising online, obviously theres the crew, or being popular as I dont want to be famous. Sorry I thought Id add to the thread. I have no clue what ure on about, and how can you even be bothered to type that. Peace and love to all the bless people out there. My dad is a famous artist, and my mum lost her arm in a freak baking accident. So she doesnt work. I bought a web cam yesterday 720p logitec. 20$$$$. I make a lot of money as my grandfather was wrongly accused of being gay in 1936. I heard someone here had a maths certificate. Props man. Lets talk morality. I do a bit of economics as a hobby, to keep me out of trouble. Otherwise ill be a bush dodger.

It did confound me, you'r right, i was just pointing out that im to thick to be inn this thread

Despite having a Dubliin heritage, I have to admit, my head did implode when I tried to read Ulysees, as Im not too keen on old James Joyce, more of a Irvine Welsh man myself.

I may know fuck all about sociology or philosophy but I know a shit load about taking drugs and getting smashed.

You're probably not too thick. The problem is not one of intelligence or literacy on your part, or even obscurantism or sesquipedalianism on my part.

You claim to know a shitload about drugs and getting smashed, and your knowledge of these two things may surpass my own, and confuse me.

The real problem is that you're not versed in the subject matter of which I wrote.

For example, I'm a soi-distant amateur economist (which is easy, owing to my background in pure mathematics and generally intense interest in things like, say, econometrics).

However, I cannot understand about 2/5ths of what the hell Karl Marx was trying to say on any given page of his texts. It's not that I lack the intelligence to make sense of it but that his expertise and knowledge of economics far exceeds my own, so I'm just not up to it.

When the understanding is appropriate to the discussion, then one ceases be to confounded or confused.

Ulysses is a challenge for anybody. The people who may claim to read it straight through like a children's book are liars and should be ashamed.

It took me 7 readings of Ulysses to understand about 80% of it. Now, Finnegans Wake? My fucking God! I read it all the way but hadn't a clue about even the basic details like who is whom and what is what, etc. I wouldn't have understood it any less had it been written in a Sumerian code language.

I may know fuck all about sociology or philosophy but I know a shit load about taking drugs and getting smashed.

That's the key to building a rapport or having an enlightening and entertaining debate or dialogue—finding out what the other person knows and wants to discuss, and then discussing it. I find this challenging, and so I end up giving a 2 hour lecture on neuropsychopharmacology to some girl who I didn't notice had stopped listening during the first 3 minutes. Fuck me, I need social skills.

I heard someone here had a maths certificate.

Yes, I said that.

Props man.

Thanks. There just aren't enough people who enjoy maths or are aware of its importance today, to my dismay.

Maths is the language of reality; to understand or explain the foundations of anything in the natural world, one must necessarily understand maths.

Lets talk morality. I do a bit of economics as a hobby, to keep me out of trouble. Otherwise ill be a bush dodger.

Hehe. Give me a soapbox, and I'll talk about the finer points of anything, from coitus to cohomology, from Mozart to morphosyntax—from the mundane and exact to the arcane and abstract.

Whenever you want a discussion, just PM me if private or make a thread and invite me if public.

Do you like cocaine Nom?

I knew it...:) Not the 4-MAR, mind..

I like 4-MAR, but only used it maybe 8 times in my life. And I haven't touched cocaine for some time because I'm just not interested.

So, no. There is no "4-MAR mind" (if that's what you meant), but rather an impressively agile mind and propensity toward intense excitation and exuberance (especially when concerning myself with something intellectual; something that challenges my mind or enhances my knowledge).

Life and learning are my stimulants; sympathomimetics only enhance the moment, not induce it. Better to be energetic and hyperactive than lugubrious, languid, and morose.

What do you mean?

Its a strategy game, on PC. It is fucking life engulfing, quite complex, even for the pros. I think I said that, as Ive been playing for fucking hours on end.

You have a magnificent vocabulary. russell brand would be proud of ya

Dan I hope you're not referring to me. English is not my first language. Sorry if im confusing people.

Hmm. What sorts of strategy? In other words, is it like chess, military strategy and/or tactics, conquest, or something different?

I love chess and other abstract strategy games because of their perfect information.

Strategic warfare is only enjoyable if I am not forcibly bound (as by the game's rules) to the Geneva and Hague Conventions. This unfettered warfare is vastly more enjoyable, I find.

A game where one can colonize a foreign nation, indiscriminately massacre its civilian population, provoke an attack against its armed forces, and then employ defensive tactics utilizing tons of chemical weapons, releasing deadly and contagious pathogens into water systems and other biological warfare, destruction of food supplies for causing widespread starvation, etc.

Also, irradiating major metropolitan areas, torturing military personnel for leisure, and, after all is done and done away with, take the most nubile women as spoils of war. Then, leave the hell I just created for its victims to deal with.

The game of being a psychopathic despot for a day is appealing. Rather than fight equally matched belligerents for hours, why not decimate a foreign land and plunder it for resources, control, and good times? I mean, it takes vastly more strategy to effectively demolish an entire sovereign state than is required for shootouts and dogfights.

I'm being facetious, of course.
