Opioids What dose oramorph should i take to roughly equal the dose of heroin iv been doing?

Hello there my fellow bluelighters. Right, iv been on a bit of a heroin binge for the past couple of weeks. I have been doing roughly a teenth (1.6g) every 3 or so days (IV too). I decided it would be best for me to go on a methadone script but i wont get the actual prescription until late next week or early the week after. Luckily someone i knew had a half litre (500ml) bottle of oramorph (10mg/5ml) as well as 10x30mg teva brand SR MS tablets as well because he has back problems but said i culd have them coz they make him sick due to lack of tollerence.

To get to the point, does anyone know what sort of dose in mg of the oramorph would equal about 0.5g of street heroin?

I took 3 of the 30mg SR ones about an hour ago and im starting to feel a little itchy but for when i run out of them im going to need to know a rough equivelancy dose but all the charts iv seen havnt got the opiates iv actually done to compare it to!

is it just a case of take 5ml, wait for an hour then do it again and repeat until i find the sweet spot?

Pretty hard to give a dosage equivalent when it comes to street drugs like heroin, as the purities vary so much and we have no idea how strong what you have is. But, for a baseline, pure diamorphine is around 3x as strong as morphine. But obviously what you have isn't even close to pure, as the average purity of street heroin is about 30% on the high end.

So, coming up with an equianalgesic dose of heroin for any prescription pain killer, is not easy and there's a large margin for error. Because it is a street drug without a known purity, you can't just make a conversion like you could with morphine to oxy, or hydromorphone, etc, where the purity is constant. There are too many variables in play with street heroin.

Please don't double post... Unfortunately, heroin varies widely in purity, so we cannot possibly estimate your dose. However, if 3 morphine SR has you "itchy" then the dope must have sucked(no offense, we have all gotten shit dope before) but still, oral morphine is quite weak. Remember, 10mg diamorphine IV(pharmaceutical grade) =15-20mg IV morphine= 45-60mg chronic oral morphine(range 30-90). So even with weak dope, you could start with 45-60mg of the oromorph, then move up from they're, maybe 15 at a time. But as I said in your other post, morphine ba is dose dependent, so it increases as the dose increases. Also, sr drugs(ESP morphine) can be deceptive. Just be careful, and go slow.

You beat me to it! But just to correct you, diamorphine is 1.5-2 times as potent as morphine. And this applies to both oral and parentarel dosing. However, intranasal dia would be at least 3x the potency, and more likely 4-5x!!!

I think your best bet OP, is like you said in your post, to go the route of just taking a low dose, and building it up slowly until you reach where you want to be. To try and calculate out a starting dose based on a conversion, would really just be a shot in the dark.

So do a test dose to gauge your tolerance, and slowly increase your dose.

First of all sorry for the double post, didnt mean to offend
ok because i realised i couldnt convert from heroin because of obvious heroin impurities so i decided to do two things:
1. order some bags of actual heroin for later lol
2. Just start slow and work my way up.

I started with 10mg increments and got up to 40mg. I waited for another three quarters of an hour or so and felt a bit too itchy so took some certrizine which has made the itches much more bearable even if it is only a placebo effect.
I took 2 swigs directly from the bottle after this. About 30mins ago maybe. Im really nice and fuzzy and warm and nicely itchy...lol i dont know how else to describe it, everyone knows that god ol' morph feeling!
Think iv ended up taking roughly 80mg in total from my 500mg bottle. Next time im going to drink a lot more at once or find out about plugging it because plugging morohuine is ACE but oramorph has a REALLY alcoholly taste to it and im thinking that shit would burn!
