What does the "v." Stand for in a thread title?

I see all these threads that use the "v." Thingy in their title I don't know what it's supposed to mean for example there's a thread in drug culture titled " what drugs have you done this week v. Bromo what?" Is it supposed to mean "versus"? If so it doesn't make sense to me...lol

Version usually. Could be versus in some cases I imagine though.

It means version. Long threads are usually cut at 1000 posts and then version 2 appears.

Great question lol. I have wondered the same thing. Sometimes "verses" didn't make sense. I think I understand.
