what does it mean when you get called cute? i have always been called that most of the time by the opposite sex but for me it doesn't make sense because i am in my 20's so is that considered wrong? isn't the word cute for young people?

^^ same; cute is usually used in the context of someone deemed to be of somewhat generic appeal (albeit in a non-threatening kinda sense) either physically or personality-wise, from a subjective or possibly objective (depending on the context used) point of view....it's generally more likened to being called 'adorable', as it lacks the overt sexual objectification implied by either 'hot' or 'sexy' when describing how a person looks - at least as far as I have understood it :)

as indeed we've all got our personal preferences within such said (endlessly broad) sub-groups :)

personally I'd rate 'gorgeous' as my most highly regarded adjective of appeal... to me it just implies an effortless, natural amalgamation of the finest physical and character traits a person could be bestowed with...that gives them a real allure in both a sexual and personal sense.

and in my mind, too....words fall short of accurately reflecting all the varying degrees of awesomeness, as every 'attractive' subject is so unique in their charm.. but, we gotta make-do somehow :)

Ironically "Attractive" is one of the lowest on my list. To me it signifies someone that is physically attractive but lacks any other redeemable qualities to back it up.

nice way of being polite when you dont really like something? think its all relative depending on the person using it.

I guess I meant in the context of people we find most appealing...and therefore (in an overwhelming sense) regarded as attractive. Attractive when used on its own is pretty non-descriptive..

It's a general purpose word expressing approval, like "hey, that guy over there is pretty cute" or "wow your dress is so cute!"
When someone calls you cute directly, they're complimenting you and might want to get to know you better.

mmm couldn;t put it better myself...more than pretty, equal to hot with the right people - I know a few cute girls/women - seriously cute - I think it's mainly to do with the way they carry themselves, alongside having pretty features which are kinda plain, but got a naughty something on the side that you find hard to put your finger on right away ;) Mmm making me think of one person in particular - a bluelighter

cute= young looking and attractive.

Ive always looked younger than my age and been told by many girls im cute, for what its worth.

I've always been called cute by the girls i've been weiht for any period of time, getting called "hot" is generally a friends w/ benifits type of situation.

Cute=Good looking, smart, fun, non-threatening, etc. If you can then show her that u can take care of her/fight/win for her, that plus cute = ideal ime
