Dr. Bloomquist's book is a compendium of bullshit. On page 49 he explains, the "four states of being" in the cannibis society: "Cool, Groovy, Hip & Square"-in that decending order. "The square is seldom if ever cool," says Bloomquist. "He is 'not with it,' that is, he doesn't know 'what's happening.' But if he ever manages to figure it out, he moves up a notch to 'hip.' And if he can bring himself to approve of what's happening, he becomes 'groovy.' And after that, with much luck and perseverence, he can rise to the rank of 'cool.'"

I think we all know exactly what he's talking about. When you're walking down the street, and a friend/relative/acquaintance/etc. ask you "what's up?" you reply "not much."
So, yes, I "know what's up." Today, "What's up?" is I'm at work, bored, waiting for my new job to come through, I'm getting sick, I ate too much food stoned last night so I have a little bit of acid reflux, and I really want to make out with girlfriend, and take a nap.

At the risk of drawing flames from the mods, I must ask...Bloomquist is for real? He is a real person and actually published a book, and is not just some wacky character from F&L inLV? If so, I have got to get my hands on a copy of that. I'll bet that it is absolutely hilarious.
