What does " COMPLEXED " mean ?

Hi folks ,
sorry for my newbie question , but I don't know what is meant by " complexed " in terms of blotters ...

Can somebody explain , please ???
 
I am aware of people doing this to the various NBOMe series of drugs (and some bodybuilding "supplements") but I wonder if anyone has any knowledge or experience of other psychoactives being complexed in this way - or is it unnecessary for most compounds?
 
From my understanding, albeit very limited, it's complexed due to difficulties crossing the BBB, or from it being slightly hydrophobic. The HPBCD'encapsulates' the compound to which it is applied, increasing the efficiency of the original compound's absorption. There are mixed thoughts as to whether it is necessary for the salted forms, but is required for freebase versions, in regards to NBOMe
 
Take one compound who's molecules are shaped like donuts and one compound who's molecules are shaped like sticks. Shake them together until all the sticks are poking through the donuts.

It helps with bioavailability for salts which aren't very water soluble. There's no point in complexing a freebase. It's easier, cheaper and more effective just to salt it.
 
...so, we're just talking NBOMe series (and similar)?
I'm aware of the action and purpose of the process, just wondering if the ludicrous amount of HPBCD I have lying around could be put to any other use?

You could do it equally successfully with 2c-b (one end of the molecule is hydrophobic). But why would you want to? It doesn't have the ROA issues that NBOMe compounds have.

You could use it as an air freshener?
 
You can do that? Far out.
I actually have no idea what it is, just bought it on a whim along with some NBOMes that I still haven't bothered to play with over a year later.

I was being serious about air freshener. It's the active component in Febreze

(Or sell it to a meathead on eBay)
 
I just read the febreeze thing on wiki. Not a bad idea!
Someday I'll get around to sampling the 25i and 25c samples I have stashed away...unless consensus has now shifted on how necessary 'complexing' is?
I think I have the HCl of both...

Edit: hehe "meathead on ebay". Again...not a bad idea!
 
I was serious about giving it to your wife to use in lieu of starch as well. It has a slightly sweet taste. :p When the smell of her cooking gets too strong, spray your HPBCD deoderizer.

Certain hormones and vitamins could be absorbed more efficiently in sublingual ROA. There's a lot of protein drugs and testosterone supplements containing HPBCD and other β-cyclodextrins on the market.

I'd do the eBay thing or maybe do some arts and crafts with it such as attempting to make paper.

Complexing vastly increases the bioavailibility in my experience. I have read in the past it goes up from 50% buccal to 99%. That could be wrong number wise, but I have definitely experienced positive results.
 
It's pretty essential to get a consistent experience when taking it buccal. It's not that the availability goes up from x% to y% but more that absorption varies less from person to person and experience to experience when complexed.
It's not necessary if you're snorting.

People seemed to speak glowingly about these substances when I was last around these parts (before I had a break for 6 months or so) and the media got ahold of the next folk devil RC; all the horror stories have me a little wary - but I do plan to give them a test run sometime in the not-too-distant future.
I'm still not sure how I feel about the psychedelic phens I've tried, but I hear these are fairly different in their nature than their 2c-x counterparts...please correct me if I'm wrong.

Freehugs - did you complex the 25xNBOMe then lay it on blotter, or dose it in solution? I much prefer buccal admin to insufflation.
