Opioids what does Bioavailability mean i dont get it?

ok so this i s what i think it means i think it mean if the oral b/o is 50 percent and you take a 50mg pill you will only get 25mg in your system is that right or wrong thank you
 
Yes, if the intranasal BA is 50% and you snorted 12 mg then you would only get roughly 6 mg into your circulation.
 
Bioavailibility is how much of the drug makes it into your blood. BA of injections is almost always 100%.

If you have an oral BA for a compound of 50%, you have to take 2x the dose orally if you want the same effects as an injection.

This thread just gives me a bad feeling that some people could get the wrong idea if reading over it quickly.

So just to clarify... This does not mean you need to take more than what you typically see as recommended doses. They have already had the bioavailability taken into account.
