What does a lot of booze and GBL look like?

Last night I ended up nursing two girls that were in a very bad way.. they'd obviously been drinking a lot but seemed to go from pissed to unconscious vomiting messes in about 15 minutes, with bouts of confusion, collapsing, blacking out, and "I don't understand why I feel like this." There was profuse vomiting for about 40 minutes which didn't seem to help that much..

So yeah, there was suspicion that their drinks had been spiked. I've never seen anyone like that from just booze. What does lots of alcohol and GBL look like? (Or maybe benzos?)

It looks a lot like girls who have drunk a lot on an empty stomach. No way to really tell the difference to be fair.

you have to be a loose fucking maniac to start drugging girls to rape/take advantage of them

maybe they got some xanax off a friend and arent educated about drug use? it could be a lot of things i guess

Nah, sadly spiking drinks is pretty common here.. not entirely sure why, given it's a big student city and there's plenty of very drunk teenagers around anyway.

I figured there wouldn't be an obvious way to tell, but thought I'd ask the experts anyway. (That is, drug experts, not creepy rape experts.. )

I had my drink spiked once before - I went from fine do a crawling vomiting mess in about two minutes. I was fine one minute then collapsed on the floor - couldn't stand up and had to get carried /dragged home.

Took me about two days to get back to normal - don't know what the hell it was? The week before I got spiked I saw a guy I know outside the same bar in a very bad state, his girlfriend was going frantic (she was high) so I had pick the guy up, sit him against a wall, get him some water and sit with him for a while until he came around enough to get a cab home. Not long after that I spotted a crowd of crying girls - went over to see if I could offer any help and in the middle was a girl convulsing on the floor in a pool of puke - she hadn't been out that long and we suspect she had been spiked also. She was in a very bad state so I put her in the recovery position (she was vomiting/convulsing so much) and had to get an ambulance for her.

I just don't get the entire drink spiking thing?

I've witnessed plenty of people who think they've been spiked, and in nearly every case they've been drinking very heavily all day. I even got a lot of shit from people who believed I'd spiked a pissed-up friend I was looking after. Cheers, guys. Shall I just leave her instead?

Spiking does happen, of course. Trouble is, it's usually indistinguishable from extreme drunkenness, which is how people get away with it when it occurs. I'd say 9/10 claims of spiking that don't result in assault, however, are false.

A bad pint and a dodgy takeaway can take you to places drink alone never could.

Literally was standing talking to a few mates having a drink / laugh and just keeled over - was far from drunk.

Everyone got a bit of a fright as nobody knew what was going on or what had happened.

I'd say it was difficult if not absolutely impossible to "spike" someones drink with GBL - it tastes like battery acid. You'd notice it instantly.

My God, your like some American wrestler too, the mg/kg level to do that to someone of your build must have been off the scale.
Only ever been "spiked" as a so called joke with mxe in my Coffee, I felt it kicking in & next thing I know I am coming round on the floor with the person laughing, I had been out for hours & they said they felt I would "like it"

As much of a Raoul Duke attitude I take to chemicals & have a pure love for mxe & those kinda things I was very angry when I came round, really not cool & imo just pure slack thing to do to someone.

I had the same thing this Thursday with a colleague. She was wrecked within two hours and went home puking. She said she'd been spiked but I knew that she had only had two kiwis to eat all day.
I think she was trying to save face by saying she was spiked bless her.

Personally I think it was just the four cocktails on an empty stomach.

yeah, as others have said, spiking I really don't think happens all that often in reality.

Loads of shitty pubs/clubs selling cheap shooters/shots/cocktails will but stuff in through the back doors, and I suppose a lot of that is of undeterminable origin.

The trouble is you're not likely to ever know the difference - short acting benzos or GBL will have worn off by morning, and they're the usual spiking favourites. Hanging out with trustworthy people who'll look after their own is a must for many reasons anyhow. Not least making sure you don't have sex with ugly people.

I've definitely witnessed the face-saving thing before, I must say.

Am a bit miffed that I gave up the last hour of an amazing set to play nursemaid, but I guess I'd want someone to do the same for me. (Not that I ever plan to get into such a state, but I guess accidents happen.)

Lots of booze and gbl looks like lots of either (I guess never saw it irl). Unless there is so much gbl that you can smell it/taste it/it wipes off the color of your shirt.

Most of the so called spikings here are girls drinking themselves stupid.

Probably ghb or one of the water soluble benzos. More likely ghb if you say it didn't feel like benzo+alcohol come up. Or just so many benzos that it went by too fast.
Gbl? Highly unlikely, tastes like paint thinner and it's impossible to mask the taste (even like 1ml in 1l of water has a strong taste and wouldn't be enough to knock you out).

She told me she was just fine chatting to some blokes in a city bar, then she very quickly started to feel really dizzy and sick, she managed to leave the bar and get away from the blokes. A responsibly taxi driver could see she was in trouble and took her home by which time she was out for the count and her flat mate had to help to get her inside.

What she described sounded like she had been skinned with GBL or similar to me due to the very rapid onset, but I couldn't be sure.

Idk, GHB sure, it tastes slightly salty and the taste is easily hidden... but GBL? Strong disgusting taste so either someone figured out drink that masks it or they converted it do GHB before.

I'm not so sure, 2ml of GBL in one of those WKD things may well go unnoticed.

I knew her quite well from work, she did drugs from time to time and went clubbing so she wasn't naïve. She said something hit her really hard and she could barely function, which is why I suspect GBL.

Who knows, I guess it could have been lots of other things but there are some bad folk about, but I think instances a far and few between.
