What do you take on your comedown

i was aware of the differences between 5-HT and 5-HTP but it was news to me that 5-HT was carcinogenic whilst in your blood stream. good thread!

i usually take half a Zoloft after a "big" night of pills, but given this doesn't happen very much i don't really bother. if im having small amounts over a month or so, as has been the case with the recent quality items floating around, i eat healthy, eat vitiamins(inc. 5-HTP), try to sleep properly, and just basically take care of myself.

btw, if 5-HTP is toxic once its converted to 5-HT, i think i'll stick with BDO to come down with!

If that's all the 5-HTP you have, I'd recommend taking it after you get home. If you have a supply, then I'd preload those 200mg on the previous night, i.e., the day before you're intending to going out. Then take Vit C before you go out, or even at the party.

Then, when you get home take another 100-200mg 5-HTP and another dose of Vit C.

its a real shame cos all of my pre and post loading vitamins have been taken off the shelves- i'm supposed to throw them out.
apart from a nice shower, and healthy food... and juice.
l-tyrosine, l-tyrosine, l-tyrosine.
i always take it before and after meth. in my opinion it works miracles. well yeh, maybe it wasn't cos of the vitamins but i've actually skipped some comedowns.=D
i also used to smoke heaps of bongs, now that i've quit i'm thinking that they actually make my pill comedown more scattered. anyone else agree? ... they blur my head, probably cos you can smoke So many.
 
I just have a shower, drink a bit of water and go to bed, wake up feeling absolutely amazing, and still feeling the hapiness type thing for a few days after :D last pills i had, i felt absolutely amazing for a week!
 
what do you take for comedown's? weed,drink etc? to escape that depression feeling

well, different strokes for different folks I guess. Personally I like weed and plenty of it, though this can make some ppl more depressed. The only thing I can say is, find an activity that you enjoy and grin and bear what ever it is you are coming down off......Take the drugs, live the conseuence.....

Other cheeses tend to be lower in tryptophan, but are still very good sources.

yeah I just smoke a few cones turn into an e-tard and then hit the sack and get at least 6 hours sleep wake up felling fine a little hollow but still good.;)
 
5 serapax will knock me out for at least 5 hours NO MATTER WHAT I HAVE JUST INGESTED.

it dont matter how hard you are tweaking or pilling, enough downers will put you to sleep fora minimum of 4 hours.... you will wake up functional, hungry and relatively alert.... for example if you have to work in the morning.

you wont be perfect, but you wont be messy or scatterd..... and you should be able do deal with the rest of the day.. with maybe another xanax or something in the after noon to keep the anxiety at bay.

I always end my drug taking with downers and would no do it any other way. . . since i always have them on hand its no problem, then there is always alchohol... same diff but you wake up hungover and feeling like shit and thats an 8 - 10 hours sleep.

i say valium, serapax, stilnox etc if you can get you hands on them. . . . . . . . . . . . . you go to sleep feeling realxed and happy and good.

I might be off base here, but I'm pretty certain this is ineffective.

Bananas contain the amino acid tryptophan ...
This tryptophan is converted to 5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan) in the presence of the enzyme tryptophan hydroxylase ...
Then, the 5-HTP is acted upon by a (vitB-dependent-carboxylase) enzyme to form serotonin.

The rate limiting step is the last conversion. Which means... eat all the bananas and 5HTP you want... but don't expect any effect on serotonin levels... the rate of conversion (5HTP --> Serotonin) is not influenced by how much 5HTP is present is the body.

Oh yeah, and eating serotonin doesn't work either... it won't pass into the brain from the blood.

God I hate the rumors health food companies spread so they can justify the effectiveness of their new herbal remedy which is probably diluted to one molecule per couple gallons of water. :X

The rate limiting step is the hydroxylation. tryptophan hydroxylase is not as abundant as amino acid decarboxylase, and kinetics favour the later. Tryp hydroxylase is also non-reversibly inhibited by MDMA, meaning there is less ability to add a OH group on the 5th position of tryptophan to produce 5HTP.

However, I personally feel that if the dose of MDMA is not too high, inability to produce 5HTP is minimal. I know this is not everyones opinion but it works for me, so I take tryptophan as a pre/post load.

I do have some concerns with taking 5HTP, but for other reasons than those you have stated. This has to do with the potential to produce serotonin in the stomach which may end up in the peripheral circulation, but this has all been mentioned here before.
