What do you drive?

What kind of van is it FUBAR? just got some new 3.0ltr V6 Merc Sprinters at work which are kind of like vans but my cars just a corsa cos I can't really afford owt better. I like nice cars but along as it goes, stops and turns that's usually good enough for me :)

Just bought one of the new Corsas. Would have gone for a Focus myself but will probably get one next year when I'm in more need of my own car. Liking this, is only a 1.2 but it's hell of comfortable, feels way safer than our previous ten year old Fiesta, and the steering is light enough without being terrifying. Also heated seats and the touchscreen console thing lets you connect via bluetooth to play music or, in my case, the porn I had closed down on my phone that morning. Automatically.

I drove a pool car the other day that was one of those Nissan leafs... They're weird the way they make no noise and you only get 90 miles to a full charge (even less if you rag it) so you're always worrying if it's going to conk out. Not a bargain either at 33 grand. I doubt electric cars are the future just yet....

I was wondering the other day why electric cars aren't more common yet, mostly so I could just plug the cunt in at home and be done with it, but you've answered that pretty well!

Yeah Snolly and if it does run out and assuming you can find a power point it takes 8 hours or something to charge!! I mean what are you gonna do, camp out until it's charged? Plus apparently the batteries only last around five years and I costs a fortune to replace them. You do get a 5k subsidy from the government for buying one and don't pay road tax but still not exactly cheap!

Oh christ, that's a bit of a disadvantage, that charging time. Really hope the technology advances because I'd love to not faff about with petrol and just whack it all on my utilities but hey ho.

Citroen Berlingo mate. Looks like shit, goes like fuck (well, with a stimmed up, hopped up and fucked up FUBAR at the wheel...). Seriously though, once its warmed up its surprisingly quick - especially when up against all these posh new motors that shut the engine off when at lights - by the time they're starting up I'm fuckin miles away :)

Sometime vans are surprisingly quick. These V6 Sprinters can't half....... Well........ Sprint :)
Well for a five tonne truck that is. Only get 15mpg but fuck it I don't pay for the diesel :)

Ooh ooh, a car thread. %)

1. Volkswagen Golf GTI (Mk 1)
2. Peugeot 205GTI (1.9)
3. Volkswagen Corrado 16V
4. Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0 Twin Spark
5. Peugeot 406 Coupe SE
6. Peugeot 307 DTurbo (meh)
7. Mazda RX-8
8. Renault Clio 1.2 16V Dynamique
8. Honda CR-V SE

I fucking <3 cars. The CR-V is by far the most practical and sensible car I've ever had - it's almost like a living room on 4 wheels. She can fairly hustle along too, even with a metric shit-tonne of camping gear in the back. Should've got a 4x4 years ago actually.

Closest image I could find of my shitty 2004 astra complete with dinged wings from sliding into a ditch and front seats where MICE ate the foam while car was sitting unused for 2 years in the countryside. Had to set a moustrap in the boot to catch the fucker.

Note to self......... Felix likes cars :)

That looks like the sort of car I'd buy Ceres.... On the plus side if it gets fucked you just bin it and get another..... No emotional attachment

totally, ive always just driven 2nd hand cars, polo, astra, passat, astra, low cost, solid a to b cars and nothing to worry about if it goes tits up and you have to get another burner, trade ins help a lot.

I'm not into cars atall, just like utility and low running costs.

Me too. I've never had a new car in my life. Why pay 15-20k for something that will cost a fortune to insure and make you cry if it gets scratched when you can get a decent run-around for a grand and insure it third party for about a hundred quid and if it breaks..... Fuck it :)

I think of all those pissed off wives and girlfriend seething on the side of the road as smoke pours from the engine as a pretty good reason not to own a shit box.
