What do you do if a vendor shorts you?

I feel like mailing them, but I don't really know what to say other than "hey you guys fucked up and shorted me 60mg total of substance, what gives?"

Should I demand reparations?

Its a shame too because the service was excellent..

I would swallow the loss, and *if* I considered ordering from them in the future, then I would mention it.

I wont talk prices (hopefully to keep this thread open) but I am missing ~12% of what I expected to get.

Another vendor put a substance I ordered on a sale the day after I ordered, I mailed them and asked if anything could be done and they gave me credit for another order, actually more credit than I would have saved even with the sale which was really awesome..

How do you word something like it though, "hey you guys shorted me, what can we do here?"

im a vendor on another site and i get msg like that from time to time, i ALWAYS wana know if my customers got shorted 1 bc that means i screwed up somewhere or my scale. i usually hook customers up fat when this happens its not rude. dont post it on their thread just pm them and be nice, dont be like u ripped me off !! bc a vendor isnt making $ shorting u a gram or 40mg

Yeah I wouldn't be like 'yo you ripped me off fuck you!!' I just kidna feel like if i was just like "hey thanks for the quick service but my orders were short by x amount" and left it up in the air that maybe they wouldnt even care lol.

Yes, there are. The existence of such boards is probably the strongest force for consumer protection in an unregulated market because they give customers the chance to review the products and services of a large number of directly competing vendors (as well as independent chemical analyses of purity -- albeit this is, unfortunately, still rare), which provides monetary incentive to offer quality. As was mentioned, you're fine just saying you weighed your order after calibrating your scale and you ended up with 12% less than expected. They'll likely provide more than that to make up for it on your next order because the cost to them in reduced business of somebody saying they shorted them on a high profile review site will likely far outweigh the cost of whatever they credit you to keep you satisfied.

It'd be nice if somebody started a micro-funded independent chemical analysis service where consumers could contribute $5 or other small amounts to get specific vendor's individual products tested rather than relying on the generosity of individuals willing to spend up to hundreds of dollars for the good of everybody. Such a service could make a very strong incentive for product quality much more prevalent. This service would ideally list all the contributor's screen names and reputation scores so as to help avoid vendors funding their own products analyses with other vendor's superior products.

Those who are members of review boards who don't offer something like this should start threads asking the board's owners to start such a service (preferably for free but a low single-digit percentage amount could probably be shaved off contributions as profit without hurting the service too much).
