What do you do and how can you use your expertise to help fellows Bluelighters?

I would most definitely say that Negrogesic is the foremost expert on drugs; but not only drugs, their pharmacology, neuropharmacology, and even their addictionology. His experience also makes him, IMO the number one expert in drugs on Bluelight.


Personally, I am a philosophy major still working on my B.A. but only have a year left, after which I will probably do one of three things (in no particular order) a) attend law school b) attend grad school (for philosophy) or c) go into real estate. I have been working for a real estate company for the past two and a half years while attending school and have a pretty good grasp of the business. Although I am not salaried (since I am still attending school and thus only working part time 3/4 of the year) and get paid hourly as an "intern" - which what I initially was - I do perform the same tasks as one of the other financial analysts at our company, and in some ways, I may even understand the entire process a little better.

I could probably help out any questions concerning real estate and provide a good panarama of the business, how it operates, and what it entails.

Also, I consider myself an expert in any kind of counseling or general advice concerning basically any topic ( I've led an interesting and diverse life and have developed a fairly wide variety of experiences from which to draw upon. Also, I am a philosopher through and through, and I can usually sift through the "bullshit" in almost any situation and see the central issue, the truth behind whatever situation or circumstance there may be. This almost inherent characteristic in my way of thinking lets me be a good counselor (I think all a psychologist really is is a counselor who goes to school for 7 more years :) ).

And finally any topics concerning philosophy I could most likely respond to comprehensively and thoroughly, as well as participate in any in-depth discourse. Basically, if you have any question about ANYTHING you've ever wondered about, please ask me, and I will most likely be able to give you a good foundation of understanding regarding the topic or subject material regarding the question itself, as well as the beliefs and opinions already put forth by society and civilization up to this point in time; and remain as objective as possible as well. Of course, when I say ANY topic, that does exclude some of the more obvious ones - biochemistry, astrophysics, geology, etc.... basically anything very "study-specific."

I am a nursing student. I have a pretty good knowledge of sexual health issues, and what I don't know I can usually find out.

And does a few hundred hours of clinical rounds, a year-long internship, 2 major research papers, publishes some work, reports on this work at major conferences with leading experts in the field, perhaps teaches a few classes, and demonstrates their knowledge in a comprehensive exam...that's all ;)
 
I worked in retail management for a few years and I can tell you the in's & out's on how to get what you want as the 'customer' and how to push right past the bitchy manager who wont give you what you want.

I currently work as a payroll administrator/payroll specialist...so I am the one who pays everyone, knows what each person makes, and blah blah blah. I doubt that info would be much help to anyone.

I have lots of knowledge in various hair stuff (coloring, styling) from when I worked in a hair salon.

Boooring. :)

Same here. I was THE manager at one of my stores, and it was awesome. Currently, I am a cosmetology student - however, that doesn't make me all that special, since I'm certain there are other hairdressers here on BL.
 
I currently work in the IT industry supporting a datacenter of roughly 2000 machines. I have a some Linux/Unix knowledge, a vast reservoir of Windows knowledge in all it incarnations as well as hardware and networking. Have a home network? I can help you if you need it.

I've also been playing drums and percussion for about fifteen years now, I can readily answer questions on technique or equipment.

Ah, yes, hobbies - greatly interested in money. Meaning, I know a lot about credit cards, debt, personal finance, etc. I've not worked out of debt enough to be much help on investing other than the plain vanilla concepts that most people *ought* to already know (when stocks vs bonds, pro-cons of real estate, etc plus my brother-in-law IS an investment broker so I can ask him the hard stuff). Okay, so maybe my obsession means I *do* know more than plain vanilla stuff.

I actually intended to work up a 'credit faq' for the forum, but I haven't gotten to it yet. Besides, most of that info is already available elsewhere. :\ Still, I may build that FAQ with links to the better places for references. :D
 
TLB i think a 'credit' FAQ would be a great idea. For some reason drug use and credit problems have a pretty high correlation :)

I do, considering I don't have the luxury of two hands to do it with!

I used to be a biology teacher, and did my dissertation during the teaching practice on 'non-verbal communication in the classroom', so if anybody want any info on teacher training (or how to spot when people are lying etc), I'd be happy to forward what I know.

My wife used to be a vet. nurse before doing a p/cology degree then becoming an NHS toxicologist, so I can also find out about any animal health queries
 
my expertise/intrests lie in:

- permaculture (solar energy, organic farming, building your own house, tropical plant identification/ medicinal plant use)
- astrology. tell me your birthday and i can probably tell you a lot about yourself
- traveling on an extremely tight budget, mostly cheap airfare
- healthy eating and cooking
- i have a huge list compiled of over seas non-profit organizations if anyone's into volunteer work
- i also know a lot about living on the hawaiian islands if anyones ever planning a vacation there.
 
haha, i am going to sound super intelligent and say im good with hair. Mainly hair color, so if you fuck up your hair color just consult with me.
 
I'm a scuba diving instructor so I know a fair bit about it. Also breath-hold 'freediving' techniques

I have been into computers since I was about 8 years old and have just been learning since... have a diploma in java and vb programming but my heart is in networking linux... any help needed with pc's? i can give ya some help...

Also passionate about DJing but am not too experienced. I have much more experience in audio installations and everything that goes with that..
 
i have 2 law degrees (Scots Law and English Law) and will be a practising lawyer next year.

I have extensive experience in Scots Criminal Law and English Probate, PI and general commercial law as well as a solid knowledge of most areas in both jurisdictions.

I'm also published in the area of family law in Canada (primarily on equal marriage).

I also worked as a chef all the way through uni, so feel free to hit me with requests for that perfect dinner date menu ;)
 
I do graphic design, web and print. I work a lot so I can't really do design for other people, but I can give design advice :)
 
I'm a librarian. I am a search geek. I think I'm pretty good (and my thesis supervisor thinks so as well).

I also do editing of complex policy papers, so if you need someone to proof-read, I can probably do that.
