What do you actually experience during an acid trip

Just got home and I'm coming down off six tabs of acid. It's 6am where I am.

What's everyone's feeling about what actually happens to you during your trip. Is it just a fun experience and recreational drug to use for 12 hours or a "gateway" to "something else"? I put those in quotes because those could vary significantly from person to person (maybe crossing spirituality, mathematical, or chemical boundaries). Let's hear it all.

EDIT: reposted here because it was in the wrong forum last night.

Could be anything really. Just recreation or a life changing spiritual/religious/personal/sexual experience, or anything in between. That's the beauty of LSD. :)

What forum did you post this in last night? I feel like it should be in psychedelic drugs? Or is that where you posted it?

I definitely feel like I experience a life changing effect some times when I trip. But it's hard to tell if that is a life changing experience in the same way that any significant memory can be a life changing experience (a car accident, the death of a family member). This is a possible way that acid can shape us. But on the other hand, could acid unlock some spiritual/scientific way of experiencing life that fundamentally changes us?

I posted this in advanced drug discussion originally because I didn't consider the topic basic drug discussion and I've tripped many times. The mod either said post it here or in psychedelic drugs. Feel free to move it.

I feel that acid helps all parts of your mind communicate with each other better, by removing "roadblocks" so to speak, so memories, feelings and the like can intermingle easier, allowing for things to be seen, experienced, and most importantly, felt clearer and without boundaries.

I know acid has changed me, I don't know about "fundamentally" changed me, but it has certainly changed me. It's changed me by changing the way I see the world, myself and my existence...in fact, the world's existence as well.

Acid is a great tool, it has been almost 12 months since my last trip and the memory is still as fresh and clear as it was the day after I tripped, and the things I've learned are even more vivid because I've had a chance to meditate and think about what they meant, didn't mean, etc.

I'm glad you had a positive experience with LSD, by the way. It can help you learn who you are by showing you reality as it actually is. Amazing stuff, one of the most important drugs (and things in general) I've ever come across.

The way you've explained it, as a tool, I think is a great way to describe it. Acid is really helpful that way. I do not believe that it leads to a spiritual gateway of sorts. I think there are people that do believe this, and maybe have good reasons for believing so, but acid has definitely helped me see things clearer than I previously have without me thinking that I just experienced a "religious" journey amongst the unknown.

The way I see it, it helps bridge a gap between the way we view/plan about the world and the way we interact with it. It's hard to put into words.

Does anyone want to talk about whats going on, on these forums lately? They seem to be closing every thread just for the hell of it even though people still want to talk. I mean sure this bdd is for harm reduction but we can have that and should be able to talk about other things like speculation and other stories revolving around drugs. Is free speech anywhere in the world? Im sure this thread will probably be closed too, Its quite sad really.

Acid is what you make it, it could be just a trippy experience, or it could alter you in the way you view the world.

In june when I go home I plan to trip for the first time (on acid). What should I expect? I plan on taking 2 tabs at once

Of course everyone's experience is different but you should expect to become disassociated with reality in some way and to start thinking differently than you otherwise would about every day topics. Read the effects page on erowid for a breakdown.

I would say, however, that you should plan ahead for your trip. Figure out what you want to be doing, whether it be sitting at home or out walking around. Also expect to take it some time in the afternoon, taking it too late would mean you'll be up all night. I would do it on a day when you have nothing to do the next day. I like to sit back and reflect on my experience during my trip the day before. There's a good chance you'll also be quite drained the next day so it will be good if you don't have anything pressing to do or tend to.

Enjoy your trip.

GodricNightfall,

I recommend sending a PM to one of the moderators if you have an issue with threads being closed. Posting in threads or creating new threads about the topic is counter-productive and gets you nowhere. Please voice your concern directly to a moderator.

impossible to explain. as each trip is different. with visuals though usually wavyness a little blurry. when you look in the distance everything looks like its on fire haha. very nice body high almost drunk like i suppose. Acid is amazing
