What do I do now? I'm 36 hours clean, that yawning hole in my stomach is nothing short of a cavern, and I can't sit still, much less lay in bed. I've made use of Immodium AD, as Phreex suggested, but it's not a panacea, and I'm afraid it's only going to stretch out this painful period. I keep putting myself to sleep with Valium and Soma, but my Valium supplies are running dangerously low. I tried to go to class today, and I was absolutely miserable. What else can I do to make this go away quicker/easier? I'm still suffering somewhat mild symptoms, I think, as their have been no muscle aches or vomiting/diarrhea.

Thanks,

gerald

well there's always methadone... you could try a rapid detox. if you want to do it on your own, well, its gonna be hell for a couple more days as i'm sure you know. i'd space the pills out somewhat, smoke mass amounts of weed, drink, and pray...

Well, you don't say what you were taking or how much/often, but I believe the worst of opiate withdrawal is over in 72 hrs. regardless of drug or dose.
When I kick tar, that's usually the case, and I've never had more than a 1/2 gram a day habit. I also use AD per Phreex's recommendation, and it seems to help. That could be pure placebo effect, but it still helps!
Weed is good, especially if you don't normally smoke. Benzo's are better. Xanax better than Valium, but any are better than none.
Hang in there! The worst is probably over. Knock yourself out as best you can tonite and you'll be on the home stretch.
-hd;)

I agree pretty much with the post above me...if you've gotten through 36 hours, GOOD for you and hang in there...the end (or at least the beginning of the end!) is in sight.

If you run out of valium, I would just use your soma or whatever other downers you can get ahold of. I guess you just want to avoid full sobreity while you are experiencing bad withdrawal...so do what you need in order to distance yourself from your physical state. Somas SHOULD help; do you have a decent supply of those?

Oh, and I think weed could help (you'll almost never hear me recommend weed!)...as long as it doesn't have bad side effects for you...I think it could take the edge off and it might help with gastrointestinal and appetite issues.

Hope you feel better soon...hang in there!:)

yeah weed would help, it did for me. Eating $40 worth a junk food and laughing at the dumbfounded thoughts in your head could help pass the time. Thats about all i use weed for.
But if you want to be a strong minded fellow, dont rely and depend on drugs. Get out of the house, go bike riding, go to a public library and asked the people if they saw your pet snake anywhere near, just occupy your time and enjoy life without substance. Time will get you there.
Sobriety is true happiness.
Drugs cut you short of the peaks in life.

that is true only for some of you crazy fucks. If you don't let drugs consume your life by getting addicted to coke/speed/herion ect. then you should be alright. I've never done any of those. Never have, never will.

Sorry to sound so harsh.. don't flame me for it. Oh yea, I tried coke once.
